Ha, I ordered on the website and scheduled pickup for tomorrow and when they completed the order they said it would be shipped to at the end of October so I am not sure if their website is function well.

Did the same thing about an hour ago. Cancelled that order and went back and placed another one. Toward the very end of the checkout process there was an option to have it delivered which was selected and another for store pickup. Must have missed it the first time. Was able to get an appointment for tomorrow

Yep I tried again and I am going to be picking it up tomorrow. I hope it is an improvement over my iPhone X.

I have an appointment to pick up my phone tomorrow, but I'm going to try today. The app shows that it's ready for pick up. Wish me luck! It's a 40 mile drive there. I guess the worse that can happen is I grab a nice lunch at the mall.
Did it work? Mine also says ready for pickup and my appt is tomorrow afternoon.

I ordered this afternoon for store pickup at a local Apple store with an appointment for noon tomorrow. About an hour later it was showing ready for pickup but still had tomorrow’s appointment. The store is only 15 minutes away so I drove over. There were a few people in line so I wandered over to one of the employees showed him what I was seeing. He checked to make sure it was ready and I was on my way with the phone in about 20 minutes.

Its not called a scam. Its called "convenience"
Enjoy your new device.
Thanks @sjperformance

You are correct, $9 Courier = SUPER CONVENIENCE to have your iPhone delivered by UBER !

Yes, Uber like car share or Uber Eats - the Uber driver showed up at my work place well within the time alloted.

The driver did need a physical signature.

Phone was new sealed and in a bubble wrapped envelope
I love it - wonder why I wouldn't do this everytime from now on!

Why stress over delivery from China tracking it for days, waiting for UPS or waiting in line !

Didn't lose any time or gasoline driving to an Apple store today - so WHOOO!

I just checked… East Coast if you go to the Apple Store app, pretty much every pro max model was available for courier delivery this morning. No in-store slots and shipping would take a month… But every single color was available and almost every size for courier delivery this morning 10:30-12:00pm for nine bucks.

Edit: I just checked for unlocked phones
I am wondering about this as well.

When I checked, all the in store availability was gone and ordering was next month.

But all were available via courier.

Strange that courier delivery was fully available - same day - for $9.

I took a chance and voila - 3 hours after ordering on Apple - Uber driver showed up with my new iPhone 14.

Well worth $9 no to have to drive, find parking, wait, and lose time on a workday.

I mean that doesn’t prove anything. It shows none because if you go on Apples website it shows everything as unavailable since there are no open time slots. But whatever. Guess we will see tomorrow morning… 🤷‍♂️
Um. When the apple website shows that it’s unavailable for pick up, it really means they are really out of stock, unless you want to stand in the walk in line. Normally if there is no time slot open but the store has in stock then it would say “Available for pick up Tomorrow” etc. But when you see that it says ”currently unable for pick at (apple store location), it really means they don’t have them in stock for online orders.

Good luck.

Opposite for me. I ordered Friday with pickup and the earliest check-in window was Sunday at 4:45pm. Today I happened to be nearby, so I thought I try the same. Though, figured I call ahead as it is still an ordeal to go to a busy mall, navigate the mall traffic and people, find parking in garages, walk, etc.

During the call they checked my order number and confirmed they had it and I can come in now. But when I got there, the people running the line said no exceptions, come back tomorrow at your time. I guess they were fully booked at that location. Had to shamefully walk out the store as if I tried to cut in line ahead of other orders, even though they confirmed the phone was there and I was already there because they said I could. I was even willing to wait in the existing line, however long it took, said no setup, no trade in, just pick up.

So if anyone else wants to try this, call, and make 100% sure they confirm it is okay with whomever is running the iPhone line.

Where do you see option for courier? Mine just shows none in stock

I just did that because instore Apple Store pickups were not available for today.

Paid $9 for Courier Delivery today = well worth my time as I don't have to wait for an appointment time nor line.

We'll see if it shows up today.

Isn't it odd that none are available for pickup, but for $9 more it can be delivered to you ?

Sounds like a scam ?

At that point it’s because they don’t have enough staff for the pickup process and it’s cheaper for Apple to have a third party delivery service just pick up and deliver rather than having staff available to walk you through the whole setup process which many pickup customers want.

Well that makes sense - Apple store staffing is limited!

Glad I did not need personal setup for my 14. Activating eSIM was easy!

Courier for $9 is a steal for me - saved time, gasoline, parking, waiting...

Uber partnering up with Apple was a surprise and I quite frankly will use them again!

Yeah this was sort of my experience too except I was only a few hours early. They had like 8 apple employees standing outside and no one in line, and they still said 30 mins before the pickup window was the earliest they’d accommodate.

I was set for a pickup Saturday but called the Apple Store support number and they said I could pick it up Friday. Went there and they said no. I asked if I could wait to see if the line got lesser (only 30 people in it) and they said sure. In 30 mins no one was in line, and I was sitting in my own personal time out to the side where the line lanes were. Apple employee asked if they could help me and when I overviewed that I was a day early, the Apple Store line said I could head in today and I am waiting for the line to quiet down at the request of an Apple employee they asked someone, and I headed right in.

If the line was packed for hours, I would understand and head home. I also thought I should just sit there because I knew at some point a nice Apple person would come to me and inquire and realize I was being respectful to their request. Also, a quiet line still might mean store employees taking a much-needed break, so I just wanted to be respectful and simply got fortunate that my store had a quiet moment.

But short story long, they do not want you heading in early to pick up your treats 😃
