Has anybody else seen a persistent error of the Wallet disabled after boot due to a false security change (macOS 26) ?
Switching to another user logged into iCloud, adding a credit card, and then aborting the process fixes the situation until the next boot.

I have full security enabled. Toggling automatic updates does nothing. I have wiped the wallet and started over. I also tried an "nvram -c" from recovery.

I have not found a permanent fix for this bug. It appears to have been previously filed under FB15799232.

I have wiped the wallet and started over, tried an nvram -c from recovery - nothing works.

After spending 90 minutes with Apple support being handed from one escalation to the next, they decided not to help me, since I had upgraded to the public beta in an attempt to see the bug fixed.
I spent the better part of Sunday to:

  • Back up the main system disk with CCC.
  • Using Apple Recovery Assistant on my MacBook Pro to wipe the studio disk completely and reinstall.
  • Set up my user account. The Wallet was working again.
  • I then used Migration Assistant to reinstall the applications, but nothing else was restored.
  • Spent an hour searching through the old user directory and copying relevant files not related to Apple.
  • Bringing up all the applications with their countless activations.
I started at 9:00 am, and most of the system is back together at 8:55 pm. The support call was the first 90 min. of that.

I am not using the beta. The Music library ran in the release. Photos had to be downloaded again.
I will stay off the beta-train for now.

Yes. Having the same problem and the same non-reponse from Apple Support. Not looking forward to rebuilding this laptop - so for now I have decided to forget having Wallet functionality on my laptop

I have had this more than once. One easy fix for this has been this:
- Log in to another user on the system. If you do not have one, create an account. I always have a secodn admin to fix issues.
- Link that account to iCloud.
- Try to activate the Wallet in it.
- It will tell you there is another user already using the wallet, and that there can only be one wallet on each system. It will ask to clear the other wallet.
- Hit cancel.
- Log in to your main account. The wallet is fixed.
