No no , nothing wrong , just a bit more info than my "friend said next week" , that's all :)

Tell us some more, that doesn't prove anything. Everyone can come here and say something like that

sure, so here is call macrumors forum.............

I also want some evidences from my friend. But apple keep all the things in secret. Well, I enjoy this, that is why apple and the keynote from SJ is so attractive. ;)

Just wait and see my friend is telling the true or lie to me. :D 唔信咪唔好睇啦

Yawns *

My friend said next week he is getting the blueprints for the new super jumbojet airliner that uses water as it's fuel -, **** I said too much already .......

Look, no offense intended but you got to bring some more info to the table than " my friend said........

Ok he posted another rumour, its better that he's hands acheing.

edit* I guess what your saying lol, cheeky . ...my missus does that for me ;) I aint one I assure you just bored recuperating from an operation and have too much time spare just now.

anyway I get no lose...........

coz if next week have new imac, I would buy one and enjoy it.

if not, my friend will buy me a lunch :D

Every day someone posts a new rumor or his own speculation. Okay it's good that people posts 'em but I'd really like to see some back up in there. It's not enough that you say that your friend told you something like that.

I've been waiting since autumn and joined this forum in December to see when it's really coming. Nobody knows for sure everything is speculation.

If someone saw that "New iMac???" thread which was really potential at first but the site where was information about new iMac crashed, it says " Product cannot be found" and yesterday it was their biggest news.

Maybe I should become a newbie again, they seem to know more about the products than we do

Maybe some of the recent upsurge in newbie postings are actually Apple marketing department people ramping up the rumor mill again before launch .a good sign me thinks

Has it happened before?

Wishful thinking if you ask me, but what do I know... I believe it's more of a "blurting out possible release date" act. I'm new to the whole Mac update craze...

I could also start babbling about my friend who knows a guy who reffered me to the buying guide on MR and telling me "to wait, because an update is imminent in a month" back in September'08.

I know the updates are coming, but I don't get my hopes up for dates anymore... sorry Marbles. :D

I know a friend of a friend's uncle's 3rd cousin's bff that works at Apple said the exact same thing about the new iMacs coming out next week. They are going to introduce a top-of-the-line 30" quad-core with dual GPUs.

Really!

A baker's dozen ellipses do not a good argument make.

I don't know if I'm the only one who hold this opinion, but personally, I believe that MacRumors ISN'T a place where you can just throw out anything that you could possibly want to happen as a rumor.

No, I believe that "rumor" is defined as hints from respected sources as to the future of Apple products, something that we have seen (either from a manufacturer or other company) that we know could go into a future Apple product, as well as speculation based in hard, provable FACT about future Apple products.

All these things are valid to be called rumors.

Things that cannot be called rumors, and should therefore be forced to be relegated to threads with "What if..." or "xMac" in the title, are:

This thread, and all those that are similarly versed.
Pictures, until authenticity is confirmed. For some pictures, this comes quickly (such as those of the unibody MacBook family), at which point they become valid rumor. Others, such as the craptacular new Mac Mini, have very, very little grounds to be true, so they are currently not a rumor.
