A baker's dozen ellipses do not a good argument make.
I don't know if I'm the only one who hold this opinion, but personally, I believe that MacRumors ISN'T a place where you can just throw out anything that you could possibly want to happen as a rumor.
No, I believe that "rumor" is defined as hints from respected sources as to the future of Apple products, something that we have seen (either from a manufacturer or other company) that we know could go into a future Apple product, as well as speculation based in hard, provable FACT about future Apple products.
All these things are valid to be called rumors.
Things that cannot be called rumors, and should therefore be forced to be relegated to threads with "What if..." or "xMac" in the title, are:
This thread, and all those that are similarly versed.
Pictures, until authenticity is confirmed. For some pictures, this comes quickly (such as those of the unibody MacBook family), at which point they become valid rumor. Others, such as the craptacular new Mac Mini, have very, very little grounds to be true, so they are currently not a rumor.
I 100% agree with you. You can't just pull out rumors from nowhere, especially now when there are lots of "hot" rumors around. We can always speculate about next HW but it doesn't need own thread.
We should have a rule that says you have to have some back up in your rumor (picture, very good source of info, web site etc.)
