Quote me in the future but Apple will change their mind and repair/replace this once someone higher up than 'robot response' level gets to hear about it.

It this happened to me i'd go all Michael Avenatti on their ass

Some are under the illusion that Apple should be _obligated_ to do something for the customer in this situation, even though they have a policy as such in place before this incident actually occurred. Apple doesn’t owe anyone anything if their policy states specifically what they need in order to complete the process and to assess the issue, but if they can assist the customer with AppleCare, that would also suffice somewhat. I understand not everybody will agree with me, and sometimes exceptions are made with Apple more often than not, but even OP escalatted this to three different supervisors and they are adhering to their policy.

Well, uh YEAH - duh - the product they sold is faulty and disintegrated spontaneously; it is within warranty coverage period (paid insurance actually, as that is what applecare really is); of course they're obligated to "do something" for their paying customer. Morally anyway; legally not so much it would seem, since Merica is a corporatocracy.

Not sure why you as a customer and private individual is defending apple's inaction; it doesn't benefit you, quite the opposite. It's directly against your own interests. You're shooting yourself in the foot, happily so it would appear.

Thats an interesting assessment to make, given that no one can make that determination being the original part of the display is missing. And we don’t know what type of abuse the watch was subjected to regardless or not. So that’s just an anecdotal assertion on your behalf using hyperbole like Disintegrated and spontaneously.

It Doesn’t have to benefit me, nor do I care that it does. My stance is and was I support Apple on their decision (And their policy guidelines) and they should adhere to their policy throughout to provide a balanced morale to all consumers alike, which we don’t know other examples if this has happened before to someone and what was their overall resolution. You don’t have to agree with me, nor support my post, nor can you take away my stance either.

Is the battery swollen? If not, it would be hard to prove/disprove that the screen fell off, especially being attached via a ribbon cable. Post a photo :)

LOL! Suing Apple is stupid.

Go see your lawyer and he will ask for money up front from YOU!

That is always a bad sign.
Don’t need a lawyer. Just go to small claims court. Apple probably won’t even show up and you can get a default judgement.

I’m shocked by Apple’s response and that they can have such an odd policy. If, say, I buy a new car and the exhaust pipe falls off a few months in I wouldn’t expect to have to return the fallen off part to get my car fixed (equally I wouldn’t expect to have to find the on/off button from my phone if that fell off).

Add to this that AppleCare+ insures against accidental damage and the whole thing becomes more bizarre.

A lot of times, issues can be resolved before you reach a small claims court. But I doubt it wouldn’t be a situation where Apple wouldn’t ‘show up’, they likely would have some sort a type of correspondence if there was an actual lawsuit that was filed and in motion.
