Okay so last night I installed public release of 26.1 and went to bed some time after. This morning I see watch stopped taking measurements at 3:50, no tracked sleep and no measures heart rate until 6:33
Weird to see that behaviour. Did the Apple Watch restart outta nowhere during sleep tracking?

I doubt it, I didn't need to enter password this morning when I woke up and my alarms rang like usual.
Also, I noticed sporadic lack of heart rate readings, especially when I'm driving, it skips readings for as long as one hour.

In my workouts the heart rate readings are spaced out. Except when I’m running but when I’m tracking weightlifting and yoga the heart rate readings are off.

It only takes readings like every two minutes instead of every second. But that was on watchOS 26.1 beta.

I’ll do a test with both third party (Nike run club) and Apple workout app later today to see how it performs in public release watchOS 26.1.

Hey EU Apple Watch users! Before you update your Apple Watch to watchOS 26.2, here’s a heads-up: it might take away a big feature because of EU regulations.

If you want your watch to keep connecting to WiFi in European countries (🇪🇺) or if you never set up cellular on your watch, it’s best to stick with watchOS 26.1. Or even better, no betas.

So much is unclear on this news item. The original article jumps wildly between different aspects:
- syncing of WiFi history (sounds like connection metadata)
- syncing over WiFi of data

Guess we have to wait. Would be a real pain if syncing over WiFi of data would be gone as this would have an impact on how I sync my podcasts (syncing over BT is a real pain).

Exactly 👍 I thought they may do it away entirely for European users, but they said this isn’t until the 26.2 public release so we don’t have any actual proof until that build comes out

Seems like the specifics of it says that you can still connect to WiFi but even if the iPhone was connected to it before you still have to punch in the password
That's how I read it as well. Seems like iCloud Keychain syncing of saved Wi-Fi networks and passphrases is being disabled in watchOS in EU.

So no more passwordless WiFi connections on European Apple Watch models. Good grief.

Unless if the WiFi is a public network

So I had been in the watchOS beta train for the 26 cycle. I noticed, like others that my messages stopped syncing. Worse was I would get a notification, I could see the message on my watch, but when I would go to the thread, the message never showed. I reported it into Apple and ever got anything back.

Well I tried the official 26.1. It was worse. So I reset my watch and set it up from my backup hoping to fix the issues - and I can say it has fixed ALL of those issues.

And now I am on the fence with the 26.2 beta

After updating to watchOS 26.1 (public version), I'm noticing higher battery drain. So I'm thinking a bit about the 26.2 beta. Does anyone have it already? What are your experiences?
Ultra 2 here.

Battery drain is not related to a specific OS version.
On 26.1, my Ultra 2 has a great battery life.
You probably have a sync issue between your iPhone and your watch, sometimes it's with weather app.
I have fixed the issue by adding a city on the watch and removing it later on.
It has reset the sync problems.
When an OS specific version has a battery drain issue, it's very widespread ...

My watch (Series 8) just seems to be dying during the night now since I've updated to 12.1, even when it's over the 30% required charge for sleep tracking. Pretty poor really.

This could be the culprit behind the missed sleep tracking stats.

Weird, had my resting heart rate measured at around 3am this morning even though I was asleep with 0 wake ups the entire night.
Did the sleep tracking stop working around that time?

Ultra 2 here.
26.2 watchOS beta 2: I’m not using it because I don’t find anything particularly impressive about it. On the iOS side, iOS 26.2 beta 2 has received negative feedback regarding battery life from several iPhone users in my thread. It’s advisable to wait and avoid using it for now.

Funny, both WatchOS 26.2 Beta 2 and iOS 26.2 Beta 2 are by far the best 26 builds I have been using. All the stutter seems to be fixed and I am not experiencing significantly different battery life on my 17 Pro Max, iPad Pro M4 and Ultra 1

Rly? This dude said 👇 his Apple Watch has drain on 26.1 watchOS public release. And I don’t have that issue on my s6 either of that version.

I am noticing on 26.2b2 my original AWU is having “carousel”, which I assume is similar to the springboard on iOS, crash and restart from the notification pull down. It doesn’t do it all the time, but once or twice a day. Also, it seems to occur when an activity notification is there.

Is the battery health okay on your Apple Watch Ultra, or does it have low battery?

Health is 90%, no battery issues.

Also, it is not a full restart of the watch, is very much like a springboard crash/restart on an iPhone. This started with beta 2.
Was there a workout app (third party or native app) running on the ultra?
