Yes it was, but on my watch I have the “listen for” turned off, and the “raise to speak” turned on. So if there is a request that I want to make through my watch I raise the watch to within a few inches of my mouth and speak without saying “Siri or Hey Siri” and say whatever it is that I want it to do. Works quite well for me, and doesn’t trigger Siri at all (on my iPhone or iPad).
Oh, I see. I don’t use the “raise to speak” feature because it activates too frequently. However, it still functions as intended to set timers or reminders on the watch, right? Try using it without the iPhone.

Some good news. I reported the Workout Outdoor Run/Walk (and I'm sure other outdoor workouts) and Apple had me install a Profile on my watch and iPhone to upload the problem as it happened. Well lo and behold it is fixed, or at lest I did a test 1 mile Outdoor Walk this morning (ran yesterday pre update) and it rendered a Map. Will run Thursday and check. will still run Strava also just in case.

Yes, everything functions as it should, and I never have had it activate unless I was giving a voice command.

As a test for you, I turned my iPhone and iPad off, then raised the watch and verbally said “set timer for 5 minutes”. It set a timer for 5 minutes like it should. I’m not sure why my device works and others don’t, just lucky I guess.

That’s quite interesting! Is your Series 11 cellular?

For my other beta testers, did yours perform just as well as his, and on other Apple Watch models like the Apple Watch Ultra or Series 9/10? Was it a public or developer beta?

No resprings here. Great battery life. Last full charge was when I installed the new beta on Monday, right after it was out. Still have 45% left. Tried the timer, and it worked several times so far. All else has been good, and this is without my usual reboot after the install. Ultra 3 for reference.

You guys are getting timers to work? Huh. I am on the latest beta (this broke after beta 3), and commands that used to work, do not.

"Add <x> to the safeway list" --> "I can find no safeway list, would you like to create one?" (it's there on my phone)
"Set a timer for 2 mins". --> "searching for apps.....I cannot set a timer on this device."

This is on my Ultra 3. So something broke after beta 3 and now I have to use my phone for those things because the watch became dumber. How are you guys getting actual timers to set? I'm jealous.

On my AU3, I am just asking Siri to set a timer for x minutes. There is usually a pause and some spinning, but it has set the timer each time I have asked. I did have an issue on beta 3, but not beta 4. You may need to start clean and refresh it. That may have helped me back on beta 1 or 2. None of my messages would sync correctly; there was constantly an unknown unread message despite not having any, and Siri was reading off the one it found. After that, I have not had any issues.

Hmmm -- by "start clean" you mean resetting the watch entirely, remove from iphone, add it back, etc? Oy.

It's not that bad, as it is backed up and it took maybe an hour total on my desk while I was working. I just plugged it into a USB-C port and let it sit there. As soon as it finished resetting, all the apps and everything came back. I only had one app I had to reinstall. That was a first.

You guys have ultra 3s, and one series 11 another poster said is working fine?

This seems like a weird feeling how some models work fine with Siri AI and most don't.

yeah its seems like this is for sure impacting the Ultra 3 which is also very strange. Thankful we are in the weekly beta build season now!

Still debating whether or not I want to upgrade to AWU4 or not from my Ultra 1. How's everyone liking the beta? I seem to be using Siri AI a lot more than I thought on my iPhone and iPad, would love to use it on my watch too.

Fine (but can be slow) with iPhone. Not tried without.
Try it without the iPhone. Watch on cellular or WiFi only.

Yes, and everything else seems to be working well too.
Unique… that’s rly an outlier for me. Only one user here reports it working as it should be!

Whew! My AWS10 has another year left! (Can't say the same for my old AWS5, though.)
My series 6 is excluded from the watchOS 27 upgrade group. I intend to keep it until it fails, such as when the screen separates or the battery dies. However, its battery health approached the 81 mark last week, suggesting the time may arrive soon. I have owned mine for about two years, following the screen separation on my series 1.

And just like that everything is not working well. It seems I’ve jinxed myself. Timer still works but no Home commands work. For example, if I speak into the watch saying to turn on the ceiling fan, open garage door or turn on the kitchen light etc, no joy. In fact, the Home app is missing from my watch. I can’t recall if the app was ever there, but commands always worked. Oh well, now I wait and see.

ETA - “switching listen for” back on fixed it, but now I must say “Siri” or “Hey Siri”, that wasn’t necessary before. It’s also quite slow, but maybe it’ll get better over time.

O Noes! So it just the Siri mode that impacts it. Did you try type to Siri ?

iOS 27 developer beta installed Monday. Spontaneously rebooted today (Friday). I’m in the house doing nothing. AW ultra 3.

Anyone else?
