We built PalmGuardian to stop accidental trackpad input while typing

We built a tiny native Mac menu bar app called PalmGuardian after getting tired of the cursor jumping, clicks landing in the wrong place, and scrolling firing while typing on a laptop.

It watches for keyboard activity and pauses pointer movement, clicks, and scrolling for a short recovery window. The delay is adjustable from 0.1 to 2.0 seconds, and everything runs locally.

A few details worth yapping about:

• $1.99 once, no subscription
• macOS 13 or later, Apple silicon and Intel
• signed and notarized direct download
• no account, ads, or analytics in the app
• no keystrokes recorded or stored
• requires Accessibility and Input Monitoring

One caveat mention: the recovery window pauses pointer input generally, including an external mouse.

I would especially like feedback on the default 0.5-second delay and whether the permission explanation is clear before installing.

Following up on my own thread, mostly because I left something out of the first post: there is a seven day review build if you want to try it before paying. Same signed and notarized app on a separate bundle identifier, updater disabled, and it points at the purchase page when the week is up. Direct download from the site.

Still interested in the question I ended on. The recovery window defaults to 0.5 seconds and I have no outside data on whether that is the right number. If you have installed it, did you leave the default alone or move it, and which way?
