I run Chrome on my Pro 10.5. I've found the pure web browsing experience to be amazing. Screens pop up and render so fast, and move so smooth. That is compared my work desktop - Windows 10 with top-spec machine with 32GB RAM and latest i7 processor, as well as my own MacBook Air with 8GB RAM. The iPad Pro just crushes them.

Web browsing with iPad Pro is the fastest I've experienced

Safari seems even faster in iOS 11, all the more with ad-blockers enabled.
Advantage of having a device with desk-top class performance running a mobile OS. I can't wait to try iOS 11 but given I use my iPad for critical work, I'm awaiting the official release.
Yeah, it’s a pretty amazing experience. Had an Air previously, which wasn’t bad, but this is 100x better (PAGES STAY OPEN!). I do 98% of my browsing with it even though I have my gaming PC for the sake of convenience. I’ve never even visited Mac Rumors on my PC 
Agreed, it's way faster than any other device or computer out there.
I hate mobile optimized websites, and iPad ruins browsing by not showing desktop site.

I've had air 2 and 10.5 hand in hand. While the browsing is faster than air 2, using the term "way" is all relative. I have an older I7 desktop where browsing seems same or faster than the 10.5
I'd bet the newest surface pro with the I7 is faster at browsing than the 10.5

iCab allows you to switch the user agent to other (desktop) browsers. It also allows native file downloading (I use it to download .mp3s/wavs for sampling), and allows actual fullscreen browsing with gestures.
Try it before you decide to ditch iOS.
Get the 12.9 inch then. It will open everything in desktop.
No. The 12.9 won’t open everything in desktop. Which is very unfortunate.
I'd like to see some benchmark report with stats on page loading times, refresh etc.
As for third party browsers, I have iCab but really prefer Chrome as I can sync across all of my devices. With the Pro, its pretty fast as it is, and its only a handful of sites that direct me to mobile page so that is really not so inconvenient, at least based on the sites I commonly visit.

Why is this amazing? Chrome on your iPad Pro is the same as Chrome or Safari running on an iPhone. A mobile OS browser loading pages requires less data to be transferred, less rendering... add to that, powerful specs, and it is a no-brainer.
Note, this is not the difference between loading the mobile version of a page vs. desktop version... it is about the browsers themselves.
If you were to customize your Chrome browser on Windows to disable the capabilities that it can do (but a mobile browser can't), you'd see similar performance.
All iOS Device (iPhone 5 to the Present iPhone X, iPad 4 to iPad Pro 10.5") are Faster when it comes to browsing. Because Macbook, PC, or Windows run differently even if you're just using a Browser on both Device PC and iOS you won't notice that PC running some backgrounds that aren't there, (java script for example) also on Macbook it entertains a lot of annoying ADVertisements or ADS while iOS has only few to none ads hence making it fastest one.
Agreed with these comments - I have the 10.5 Pro (both LTE and Wi-Fi) and for the first time, I finally feel like a mobile device has just as fast web browsing as a desktop. Possibly my iMac Pro is a bit faster, but the iPad Pro is certainly as fast as my 2014 Mac mini, MacBook, or MacBook Pro. All of these running the latest macOS/Safari.
Frankly, I've felt the same since Pro 9.7/iOS 9 as far as webpage rendering being on par with desktops. Granted, for scrolling smoothness the 2017 iPad Pros are definitely nicer.
Chrome work great on my my 10.5 but I find I still prefer a larger screen and a mouse wheel for scrolling for any extensive browsing.
When loading a site as desktop site the amount of ads is the same.
The claim that all iOS devices are faster than all computers is wonky to say the least. Just because you see more ads on one platform doesn’t mean that can be made into a broad statement that suits everyone.
JavaScript is usually executed both on iOS and on desktop systems as well.
We all experience quite fast iOS web rendering but let’s not jump into random conclusions.
