So, the theme for this week is Toys
Something that you used when you were a child or toys in use now by children you know , yours or not. Something that has a meaning to you as a photographer.
A toy has a magical power: it should trigger a child’s imagination a take him /her away from this world problems.
Old or new : a rocking horse or even a stick with a rug on top that mimics the head of the horse
A kaleidoscope, a lego figurine, a train, a car :so many ideas.


The contest closes at 23:59 on Tuesday 21st December.

Standard rules apply:


  • Do not comment, vote, react or click “like” on images prior to the winners being announced. Violators might be awarded first place, entry or not!
  • The photographs must be your own work.
  • You may only submit one photo per contest but you can point the members at the internet for a contextual bio image to illustrate your mimicry.
  • This contest runs for one week. If in doubt, check the dates in the title.
  • At the end of the week, The Judge will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible.
  • If the Judge is unable to complete the selection within 48 hours of the deadline, then last week's 2nd place has to step in. 3rd place takes over should 2nd place be similarly unable to officiate.
  • The 1st place Winner will start a new thread with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the Judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create a new theme, after that it defers to 2nd place).
  • Be sure to update the Contest Master List as soon as you post a new theme.
  • Contest ends on December 21th.

Clarification requested: Do you mean photos of children and their toys or can images just be the toys alone? You might also want to correct your title to Children's Toys....

If you had young kids around you would see how it could become “abstract” art ! LOL

well to be honest i was just trying to help you make an entry. the theme is toys; children aren’t necessary for the entry.

and not all contests generate the same level of activity. and at christmas it’s even harder; some years we do two weeks for this holiday.

but just keep on complaining. ?
 
Complaining? Not sure where you get that from since it seems to me that the (obvious to me) target group for this competition needs to be nudged into action. I'm not in the target group, and for various reasons I don't want to make an entry, but I appreciate the thought......

Good point about this being a busy time of year and how we have in some years stretched things out over two weeks. This seems a bit premature to be doing that this time, though. Isn't it usually that time frame between Christmas and New Year's?

Apologies to Katbel, as this whole thing seems to be going pear-shaped.....

We are living in a crazy world, lot of uncertainty everywhere, besides the personal ones and we all have ours. I know it’s not easy, don’t take it too seriously, it’s just a contest, feel free to post your photos but please leave discussions elsewhere. I really appreciated your help and knowledge when I had to get my camera , you have a gift using yours and being so helpful to strangers like me. Don’t let the world take you , just take a shot and show your magic.
