Thanks for the feedback. Very interesting set of photographs, not easy to judge. Well done to all, and congrats to the others on the podium.

roll on spring.

thanks for the mention! I think my photo was actually taken October, not summer, but I still love that giant warm flare. ?

Congratulations to all.
While I mastered the fall off the bones babyback ribs, now I need to master the exposure. Should have masked that area ab brought it forward.

Incidentally, on the ribs, when slow cooked on grill they would be tender but dry out. Tried slow cooking in a crock pot for several hours. They were ultra tender fall off the bones but soaking wet. Finished by putting on the grill for 20 or so minutes as the veggies cooked (coated in olive oil, salt and pepper) and spread BBQ sauce on ribs plus carefully flipping allowing to brown on both sides - thus the dark color. The excess water evaporated on the grill but still moist and tender.

I hope that temple was build for the purpose of being burned down in some ritual? An absolutely striking picture.

Yes it was. The temple burn is the final night of Burning Man. The Man burns on Saturday and the temple on Sunday. All week people write names and memories on the temple walls. Some add pictures, small shrines, and memorials. It is a really moving space.

When the Man burns there are 70,000 people and three rows of art cars behind them blasting out music. It is a chaotic cacophony of sound. By contrast there are still tens of thousands of people on Sunday night but they are all sitting in silence as the temple burns. The fire represents a release.

Thanks for judging this week's contest and taking the time to comment on all the photos.

For reference, here's the temple about an hour earlier. You can see the ring of people on the far side of the circle and some art cars behind them.
