Well done podium placements! cracking images this week. really high quality, wow!
Since the topic is motion I'm going to fire up the time machine and submit a static image yesterday. The photo won't show motion but the method of entry will.Thank you for the entries, the competition is now closed. Back later!
Great job everyone. Some stunning images. Well done to all the winners.
Thanks for taking the time to critique all the shots @Ish. Good job (I didn't envy you)
Mine was a archive shot as I've been pretty busy of late. I had a few ideas, but they were blown out of the water by what others posted and lack of time.
@MCH-1138 that was a great shot. Feel like we haven't seen enough of you're humming birds lately. They always bring a smile to my face on a cold dark winters morning.
I considered another photo that met the criteria (it has a fun story to go with it) a little better
but I just love that bicyclist photo and have not had a chance to share it with anyone outside of my small circle of friends that are interested in Photography. lol.
Where was your entry this week?
@Ish it's about the same depth I think. The middle part of my photo is the early stages of ice forming called frazil ice. You did a great job on the judging. Congratulations to the winner and honorable mentions.
Thank you @Ish for the amazing efforts with your critiques and adjudication. When I saw @MCH-1138 's entry, I thought it was all over there and then!
That is the moon in my image, I had to scramble fast to get that shot and the cars arrived at just the right time to give that detail to the surrounds also. So it was really part luck, and part planning (on the run.)
The new contest is up and running now over here.
Cheers. Another nice composition and nicely framed.Congrats, Alex, on the well-deserved win! I recall seeing your photo (or a similar one?) in the Photo of the Day thread earlier and thinking at the time what a great image it was. I really like the subtlety of the exposure throughout the frame and the leading lines that just draw you in.
Thanks, @Ish for the third-place nod and for the thoughtful comments all around. Lots of really great images again this week, so you had your work cut out for you. I appreciate that you took the time to give everyone solid feedback.
And thank you, all, for the very kind comments on my photo! For those who may be interested, the background is an out-of-focus oleander shrub.
AFB, I am getting far fewer visits from the hummingbirds right now -- down to maybe one sighting a day -- so not nearly as many photo opportunities at the moment. But if it will help bring some warmth and cheer on a December morning, here is another from my archives (complete with some motion-blur of the wings to keep this somewhat on-topic)...
