Thanks for the win MacRy! Hope you have a nice relaxing evening to make up for the day you've had. I'm glad I wasn't judging as there were a lot of good photos this week. Well done too MCH1138 and USAntigoon! :)

I'll have a think and either get a new topic up before I go to bed or first thing in the morning, UK time.

Last time I saw this it was on a 55" screen as I recall!

You have a good memory! :) It's yes and no though. I posted a variation on this a while ago and Doylem made a suggestion for a change to it and this is the result of doing that.

Really well deserved win for @Ish. It would have been my choice as well. As soon as I saw it it reminded me of Henri Cartier-Bresson's Derriere la Gare Saint-Lazare. This is as high a compliment as I can pay anyone. lol.

Thanks for the mention @MacRy!! This was indeed a tough week of judging.

Thanks E3BK. I shall blush if it makes you think of one of HCB's though! :p

Right let's do this.

3rd place goes to MCH1138 - What a superb wildlife shot. I love the symmetry. Really well done.
2nd place goes to USAntigoon - I really like the feel of this one. It looks so tranquil and I love the pastel colours.
1st place goes to Ish who came in and stole it at the very last minute. What a superb shot. I wish I had taken that!

That was a tricky one folks as there were so many great photos this week. You should all be very pleased with your work. First place was well and truly locked in for me with Ish's brilliant shot but the 2nd and 3rd places could have gone to any number of entries.

Special mentions to:

Indydenny for a beautiful sunset.
Miltz for a really nice autumnal landscape.
E3BK for great framing.
Butch10x for a really great night shot.
AlexH - I love your street shots.
Hugh for excellent lighting
Anotherscotsman for a really clever idea with the snowglobe theme. Well done.
Alex of Oz for that fantastic feather shot. That could very well have won it for me had I not excluded you on a technicality because it's not strictly a reflection, more a magnification. It's still a superb shot though that I loved the first time you posted it.

If I didn't mention your photo it's because I hated it. LOL. Kidding, they were all great, i'm just being curmudgeonly this evening :)

Over to you Ish....

Cheers MacRy - hope the day has improved now that you got the judging complete, definitely a real judging challenge!

Well done to Ish, my personal favourite amongst several potential winners.

In a coffee shop.
What a fantastic competition, and some seriously stunning entries. Great thread, great theme, topic or title, @MacRy, and some fantastic and beautifully shot entries.

Stunning shot @Ish - absolutely superb. Superlative. Beautifully composed and executed.

When I last checked this thread, several hours ago, it hadn't appeared.

And yes, I also loved @MCH-1138's astonishing reflection of the bird dipping its beak into water - an outstanding natural history shot, which is the shot I assumed would win.

Well, as something of a fan of (and an occasional player of) chess, naturally enough @Hughmac's elegant shot appealed to me, and I thought that @USAntigoon's haunting dawn mist, shadows and reflections really excellent.

In addition, I was taken with @Alexander.Of.Oz's exquisitely droplet on the macaw feather, a theme also touched upon by @PfEMP1's lovely shot when photographing a droplet on a twig.

And I also liked @filmbufs' cheerful Yuletide shot, - one which featured nice, normal, cheerful people - comfortable with one another and in good spirits - captured by way of their reflection in a Christmas tree decoration. Lovely.

Congrats to @Ish for stealing the win! A gorgeous image for this weeks theme.

@MacRy I thought it might have been a step too far away from the theme of "reflection" but chose to go with it anyway, as it had a reflection of a window in the water droplet. Thank you for the kind comments!

Congrats to the winners and all of the stunning images! There were some real beauties there.

Thanks for the kind words, @Scepticalscribe. I decided to upload a cheerful image after watching the 24/7 news cycle go on and on about the recent San Bernadino shootings. I got tired of hearing about all of the hate, anger and bitterness in this world and, when I saw this picture in my archives, it immediately made me smile.
