@Alexanderr.Of.Oz I like the scene, but the ghosting couple on the left detract from it a little for me. Perhaps a slightly shorter exposure (1.3 seconds) and a higher ISO would have eliminated it. Also are you shooting through glass or do you have water on your lens? Either way a lovely sunset with the blue wonderfully supplied by the lighting.
@Miltz Lovely seascape. The blue water looks quite inviting even if it’s a cold wet November evening as I write. I think the central framing of the posts works really well here, as does the vertical frame. Good job. I’d love to see this same shot at sunset/sunrise if you are ever in the neighborhood again.
@deep diver I (like many others I suspect) had never seen or heard of Stefilla’s stone. As an image it needs something else in the frame for me to give it some context. I’m not sure if I’m looking at a mountain sized stone or a microscopic one. Nice range of blue colours though. Image almost looks like a double exposure.
@anotherscotsman I never knew they had built a Monument to Wallace, so thanks for the explanation. Otherwise I’d have assumed you’d been to Middle Earth! Anyway lovely silhouette shot in the blue hour. You either have a really clean sensor (as this is the type of shot that always shows spots for me!) or you took your time with the healing brush.
@NeGRit0 Well this is certainly a very blue indoor scene. My guess is its some laser tag type of place? I do look at the scene and wonder whats going on though, as I can’t really make it out. This one would probably work better as part of a photo story. Also the clipping of the top right corner of the neon strip bothers me a bit. But certainly hitting the blue criteria of the contest.
@kenoh Lovely landscape Ken. Makes me want to travel more. Glad to see you putting that M9 to good use!. I’d be tempted to lose the green and red buoys as they are a little distracting from the natural beauty. I also think the paddle steamer needs to be a bit further away from the edge of out of the frame altogether. Perhaps the same shot with a ND filter and a slow shutter speed would have worked well here. Overall though I like it.
@someoldguy I’m not usually a fan of a dutch angle, but it works well for this scene. Love the reflections in the building. That blue looks quite strong and a little unnatural to my eyes. I wonder if pushing it a little less in PP would have worked better for me. Anyway overall a nice image.
@MacRy I remember this one from a while back, and I liked it then and I like it now. It’s a perspective I’d never have thought of which is part of why I like it. You have also taken the trouble to get your horizon and center point correct, which is harder than you think for an image like this.
@JDDavis Awesome shot. The sort of place I’d love to go to and shoot. The mist and the reflection just add to a fantastic scene. This just needs printing and framing.
@Indydenny One of a few major Cathedrals in the England I haven’t been to. Good spot on the blue reflection. I guess to get this in shot you had to shoot of center a little which for me detracts from the scene a little. I love the getting down low though. Gives the shot some foreground interest.
@jkramerbob Another great shot but I’m not really sure what I’m seeing. Is this a window or a waterfall? Anyway a lovely shot that just seems to be so tall and goes on and on. The runners add some nice interest.
@Hughmac Its interesting fabric, it’s blue, but not a lot else to say about it. The image doesn’t really do it for me (but I’m sure others will disagree). Sorry.
@Laird Knox Welcome back! With images like this you should be posting here more often. I like the way you have got up close and personal with the tree, without loosing the sunset in the back ground. You’ve nailed the exposure for both (with some flash I’d presume) like a pro. Sort of thing I’d either over expose or under expose part of it!.
@rx7dude A lovely image of a car aerial! I love cars, and when I try to photograph them I never get it right. I like the way the colours are so goergoues on the car roof. Well done. And of course that dreamy bokah that only a 1.8 mm lens will give you! (note to self, order 50 mm
f1.8 lens!)
