OK, here we go...

I had not envisaged such a hard time in judging, and with this and a looming family crisis in the middle of my write-up please forgive me if I have typed a load of gobbledegook

I've gone in with more of a layman's view of the entries and judged them more on personal preference than technical merit.

If you disagree with my decisions feel free to blame kenoh as he put me here :D

MacRy
If you wanted something green this is the place to start! The unreal colour of that ramshackle building clashes nicely with the more natural greens of the foliage.

pmxperience
Lovely shot, perfect focus; I'm glad the frog stayed still if you were using a slow exposure. I like the tone of the greens.

bluespider
Lovely eyes, quite dramatic colour against the grey of the cat. Nice photo, super cat.
Did I say I loved the eyes?

Miltz
Nice, minimal DOF which works well. I like yellow too by the way.
I feel like I just want to kick that dandelion head into the air and help it on its way.

Melizard
Lime green, dark rock. Works well.

JDDavis
Super landscape with all the green you could hope to see from the top of a mountain.
Is that a safety line you've attached to your daughter, or a fuse?

CharlieBrandt09
Love these aerial shots - is it a fisheye lens or is that really what the horizon looks like from 400ft up?
Not much more green to be seen than a golf course of course.

kenoh
Nice, excellent shades.
I love the water drops on the leaves.

taptic
More dandelions, closer in and focussed well but still plenty of green in the shot. My eye is more drawn to the seed heads though, which ain't green.

tomnavratil
Lovely golf course, looks great next to the sea.
I would have maybe chopped it off a bit to include more golf course and less sea for the purposes of the competition.
I don't know if this was possible being where you were when you took the shot.

logista
I normally don't much like lime green, but I really like this photo; the simplicity makes it great.

jodelli
Super, peaceful, almost like a painting, broken by the bright yellow and orange. Works well for me.

Cheese&Apple
For a moment I thought this froggy was coming to get me, so menacing is its stare.
Not a lot in this photo that isn't green - superb shot.

AlexH
Wonderful symmetry, perfect focus.
A bit more yellow than green, but as I've said above I like yellow too.

Indydenny
Another super golf course shot, unfortunately the bunkers look a little stark and distracting to me.

rx7dude
Love the extreme contrast between the palms and background.
Maybe darken the bottom left corner to match the rest of the background?

someoldguy
Lots of varying shades here with a central splash of yellow. The bird with its partly green reflective plumage is a nice touch.

Apple fanboy
Lovely landscape, superb sky, nice variety of greens.
Good all round.

Puckman
I've been looking at these waterfall photos with envy (nothing like this in the south of England) - nice bright colours with moving water to boot!

Cp1
Another water shot, great photo for what it is but unfortunately greens are quite muted.

themumu
Lovely peaceful shot, plenty of the right colour.
I can just imagine walking that pathway listening to the birds singing.

Chappers
Not sure where this is? Nice pano and perfectly framed, but the greens are coming over a touch blueish to me.

Laird Knox
The scale of diversity has just increased with this marvellous photograph.
A fitting last entry to this competition (albeit submitted whilst I was typing out my 'closed' notice )
Brilliantly executed.
-------------------------
23 entries (my fault for picking such a subject ) but only 3 winners

1st Place logista

2nd Place Cheese&Apple

3rd Place jodelli

Honerable Mentions Miltz / AlexH / rx7dude

There, I've done it now, over to the next person :)

Cheers :)

Hugh (Whew!)

Well done Hugh on the critique. Lots of good images this week.

I loved your frog C & A. The way you have filled your frame with green, was perfect for this weeks theme.

Onto the next.

That's the best way to judge these - on what you, as the judge, like. This isn't a technical competition (although it can be) so you did great.

I had wanted to get something entered this week and the week just got past me. I had to pick something and just squeaked in under the wire. :)

Thank you for the kind words. This is one is destined to become one of my limited edition prints. It is slow going but I will get there eventually. ;) I have been surprised by the response to it as it isn't a typical mainstream image.

Thanks for the 2nd place nod and congrats to logista...well done.

Great job Hugh and I agree with Jeff...it really is about personal preference. You can't go wrong with what you like.

Hope the looming family crisis works out ok.

LOL, it's the rope that we used while climbing. It is distracting in the image but necessary to prove to her mom that she's safe!

Great job judging and great set of images. Melizard I really liked that green on the rock.

Thank you Hugh! Unfortunately there wasn't much I could have done. We couldn't fly over the sea due to offshore helicopter traffic but that would be ideal, I agree! ;)

Storm in a teacup eventually, but you know when the children are all grown up they're supposed to be less of a worry not more !

Thanks for all the comments on my critiques everyone; it's also been a worry of mine over the past week that I might upset somebody by being too honest in my views.

Cheers :)

Having just discovered in old age that I'm slightly red/green colour blind - I'm not surprised - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
Shot in Turkey just out side Safranbolu where they grow some of the best Saffron in the world.

More important congrats to logista - great shot.
