Times up everyone. Clearly too difficult a subject for most people. Mrs MacRy has judged and the winners are:

3rd place - v3rlon
2nd place - rx7dude
1st place - JDDavis

Well done JD. Sorry for the hard subject this week folks. Perhaps we'll get something nice and easy this time like "Flowers in your garden" or "Selfies" - something that won't tax everyone.

Thanks for the interesting and challenging topic, @MacRy 's! When I am better again, I shall endeavour to capture something in a frame that fulfils the challenge.

Congrat's to @JDDavis !

You would have thought that with me having been lazing around in bed all day, with a nice moderate body temperature averaging out to about 38.6 C, since last Sunday. Where was I going? Oh, yeah, you would have thought that whilst under the influence of a delirium of sorts that the ideas would have been flowing thickly and freely, but, well, uhh, nupp. Must have been all the shaking that made it all too hard for me this week. So I did the thing we all feel ashamed of afterwards, looking through the archives and chucking something in to the ring, just in case.

Interesting theme this week and definitely a lot of ways how to interpret it. IMHO it was quite difficult to judge or also to see the exact meaning of the pic the author was thinking. I mean because of your original, cultural background and education, you might perceive some of the images differently than others. Probably my understanding of the Berlin Wall I posted (not the best picture, didn't have anything better this week - sorry) would have a very different meaning for someone from the US for example or Australia so I think it was really great to see this week's entries thanks to the diversity and hidden meanings in some of the pics.

Well done @MacRy on this week's judging and congrats to @JDDavis, @rx7dude and @v3rlon - looking forward to next week's contest!

In a coffee shop.
It's AFB reflected in the chrome taking a pic with his phone.

Fair enough, and thank you for taking the time to explain; from the context, I had guessed as much, but wasn't at all certain…...

Actually, the unclear and somewhat blurry image reminds me a little of the images depicted in the 'Foe Glass' which appeared in Harry Potter….

Thanks MacRy and congrats to everyone on the photos. That's the "Awaking" statue in National Harbor in D.C. It was just lucky that the angle kind of worked out for this theme. It was a tough one but I like where AFB was going with his ideas :) I'll get started on a new contest. Perhaps "spiritual existentialism" or "avarice"? Meh, it'll probably be "flowers" or "pets" ;)

Why not something like 'friendship'? That is an abstract theme, but is also one that can be captured visually.

Yes, I, too, enjoyed @Apple fanboy's offering. Apposite and pretty funny.

If I had access to better hardware than the FaceTime camera of a 4th generation iPod touch, I would've submitted something heavy-handed like:
