Weekly Photo Contest 27th March - 5th April: Expressions

Welcome to this week's photo contest. The theme is Expressions. Looking for facial expressions from animals, pets, and people. Expressions are infectious and makes us feel the same, in other words, they can cast a mood. It is hard not to smile if someone is caught in the act of laughing.
So cast a mood with your photo expressions!

Contest ends 4/5/18

Rules:

1. Be creative and have fun.

2. Please submit only one photo per contest.

3. Please do not comment on photos until after the judging has taken place.

4. The contest runs for exactly one week, starting NOW! (see time/date stamp at the start of this thread)

5. At the end of the week, The judge (last week's winner) will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible. (Judge has 24 hours to make decision)

6. The 1st place Winner will start a new thread with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the Judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create new theme)

I don’t have a pet, nor do I take many animal pictures. But I want to post something for this competition nonetheless.

This dude looked proper grumpy but didn’t say no to posing for a portrait.

It is interesting that the first posts are animals. Even though they have limited capacity for facial expression, they somehow let us know exactly what they are thinking.

I was taking some pictures in the woods behind my house. My cat decided to come along to stand guard. She heard something rustling behind me and went on the prowl.

(BTW: It is not true that she is our cat. We are her humans, but that is another story.)

All good. There are actually 9 rules. Just copy & paste:

· The photographs must be your own work.

· Be creative and have fun.

· You may only submit one photo per contest.

· Please do not comment on photos until after the judging has taken place.

· The contest runs for a week and starts now!

· At the end of the week, The Judge (last week's Winner) will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible.

· If the Judge is unable to complete the selection within 48 hours of the deadline for close, then a vote will be carried out to select a winner. This will be based on the number of "likes" each image has. In the event of a draw, the second place winner from the previous week will choose the tiebreaker.

· The 1st place Winner will start a new thread with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the Judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create new theme, after that it defers to 2nd place).

· Please update the Weekly Contest Master List when you post a new contest
