And yes I could have done better with the cloning out of the legs. My LR skills are not that good.

That was done in Lightroom?! That is pretty amazing for LR. Edits like that really need Photoshop. Color me impressed. ;)

Heather likes to be different. ;)

We are doing half the critiques today and the other half next week. However, they are all due today. In fact we have already hung a bunch of them up on the Cheyenne campus.

Ah okay. That cool. I heard she is a great teacher.

Thank you for your patience. Without further delay:

I am struggling with what is the surreal part of this. It does look a bit like a drawing but outside of the traffic trails I'm scratching my head. I did just notice the exterior lights of the Grand are off and that is a bit surreal but wouldn't be for somebody that doesn't live here. :)

As far as the image itself it is really well executed. You have a nice balance between the highlights and shadows. There is detail pretty much throuhout the image. The color is good and it really does show a nice portion of the skyline.

I really like this image.

Even though there were not many entries this week I find it difficult to pick only three.

In the end the three I keep coming back to are:

Third place: alexxk
Second place: logista
First place: kenoh

Well done everybody on a bit of a tricky subject. I hope you continue to explore these images. I believe there is some real gold in this thread.

Thanks for the kind words. I thought the stars and the lights off made it very surreal, but i see what you mean.

Well done all, and congrats to the top 3!

Great entries this week again! Well done everyone. I was quite busy job hunting (not much luck lately to find a flexible marketing job) so I couldn't enter, next week however!

Yes, I am. I'm not sure Laird is going for a degree like me, but we attend the same school. Had a class together last semester. Lol.

That's great! Hope you're both enjoying it; it sounds interesting and challenging at the same time.

In the interest of full disclosure, I met a fellow forum user once to! We already knew we were both going to be in the same place, so it was prearranged.

Congrats to the winners and especially Ken. That was the favourite of me and Mrs MacRy too. A deserved win fella :)

Yes it is, thank you. I should post in the daily thread, but i barely find time to read the forums. Though I do try to keep up with it from month to month.

I would be interested to hear how Negrito & Laird Knox came to realize they were both users on this forum..:D

Actually we only recently met during class last year. IIRC A few years ago I mentioned something in the POTD about taking a class, and he asked me about it. I told him it was thru our local community college. Fast forward to last year we ended up taking a class together after.
