Okay then, the contest is now closed. Be back in a bit with the results.
[doublepost=1557169713][/doublepost]Thanks to everyone who participated this week. It's always a challenge to pick other peoples work as I don't think I'm at all qualified to critique. This is a friendly competition though, so no real pressure ;)

Okay, so here are my choices and a bit of feedback for each entry.

@someoldguy - Great lighting in this composition.

@MacDonaldTrump - I’m glad you gave an explanation with your entry. It might have been a bit difficult to figure out what I was looking at. Great composition !

@Laird Knox - Earth ? Or is it ? An alien landscape ? Ancient Alien researchers say - Yes.

@malofx - Great coastal scenery.

@deep diver - Excellent entry. My first thought was a large section of glacial ice. Happy to see it’s a microscopic world.

@tizeye - I’ve yet to see a volcano. Great entry.

@mollyc - Perfect.

@Darmok N Jalad - Wandering the Earth…. Great entry.

@akash.nu - Stunning monochrome. Love the contrasts.

@decafjava - Anytime I see a trail, I feel compelled to follow and see what’s over there. Great entry.

@gigatoaster - Massive mountain. Are those colors enhanced ? Great entry.

@Janichsan - Ha. Cleverly placed entry. Well played !

@inkmich - Great landscape - even with the manmade objects in the frame.

@AllergyDoc - I am guessing that’s Bryce Canyon. It’s on my list of places to see. Nicely done.

@redshifted - An abundance of color on the earth as well as the sky. Nice.

@Somepix - We humans seem to leave our mark just about everywhere.

@Apple fanboy - Misty green goodness. Great entry.

@CE3 - Another stunning vista. Great entry.

My choices for Place were hard to do, but here your are.....

@tizeye - I’ve yet to see a volcano. Great entry.

That was the island of Lanzarote, Canary Islands. Basically, formed by volcanos that are inactive now. However, they can do thermal cooking of meals tapping into the subterrain heat that exists today.

Closer to home, there is Sunset crater on the eastern side of Flagstaff, AZ and it's related lava flow fields. (also on that loop road there is an area by the Indian dwellings that you can look across the desert to se the painted desert in the distance. And of course, there are live volcanoes in Hawaii.

This was actually my second choice. First idea that came to mind was going to a space launch and titling it "Leaving earth, Bye!" But the launch was scratched and eventually did launch a few days later at 3:30 AM. I don't think so.
