So, I'm wondering.................

Is it that we don't get invited because we spend so much time with our cameras?
Or do we spend so much time with our cameras because we don't get invited?
Or maybe it's one of those vicious self-reinforcing cycles.

I know what I'm going to be talking about with my therapist in two weeks.

I can’t remember the last time I was at a party.

I have been to two BBQs this summer but no parties.

We have our work BBQ Thursday. It's kind of compulsory for senior manages. Not sure that really counts!

Neither. I don't get invited because I'm an antisocial git!

Thank you all for participating, and I’m sorry for the lack of feedback on your entries, I just don’t have it in me. My judging is strictly based on emotions/moments captured. Here are the winners.

1st: @Alexander.Of.Oz Great entry for what I was looking for.

2nd: @E3BK I like how this photo has many generations having fun.

3rd: @Hughmac I love that everyone in this photo had a genuine smile.

Great stuff everyone, and thank you for participating.

Thanks Oscar! A unique theme, with a good diversity of images presented.

I knew this image captured the upset and disappointment of the people present at this event, but wasn't sure whether it would quite fit your expectations. You never know, if you don't try!

I'm actually using this as an example of poor event photography to my Mindful Photography participants this Saturday, the weirdly chopped off person on the bottom left really grates with me when I look at this image. We have been asked by a local Rotary Club to come and photograph a suicide awareness walk event they hold annually, so I'll be covering some basics for those that want to help out with it at a local outdoor produce markets on Saturday morning.

I'll scratch my head and see what I can come up with for the next round.

While, like others, I never get invited to parties, I threw a party just to get pictures for the Photo Contest. No one came. Said something about having to watch the Super Bowl, but I think that was just an excuse.

Congratulations to the winners. Well done.

aaaand, is there a link to the NEXT photo contest?

a good theme would be "people who are 7 foot tall" with proof their subject is that tall.
i guess they would need to stand in front or next to: a giraffe, bridge, sequoia tree or double decker bus, and must wear shorts, no stilts!

So what will happen is Alex will now think up a theme for the next challenge because he won this week. He will then create a new thread for the new challenge and post a reply in here saying it is up. We are all then welcome to participate.

So watch this space and be ready to have a go.

I’m at the age in life where the parties I get invited to are kids birthday parties. I would only take pictures at my own kids parties, and even then my wife and I don’t feel comfortable sharing them online.

worse is i can get free tickets to a lot of event, I just simply don't go.
