The topic for this week is Rain.

Given the amount that we’ve had of late, we might as well see if we can get something artistic out of it. Anything that is rain-related is welcome and apologies to those who are in a bit of a dry season (eg Florida). Extra cudos for shots that tell some sort of story but not essential.

Rules as follows:

· Do not comment, vote, react, or click “like” on images prior to the winners being announced.

· The photographs must be your own work.

· You may only submit one photo per contest.

· This contest runs for one week, if in doubt, check the dates in the title.

· At the end of the week, The Judge will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible.

· If the Judge is unable to complete the selection within 48 hours of the deadline, then last week's 2nd place has to step in. 3rd place takes over should 2nd place be similarly unable to officiate.

· The 1st place Winner will start a new thread with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the Judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create a new theme, after that it defers to 2nd place).

· Be sure to update the Contest Master List as soon as you post a new theme.

Good luck and looking forward to the usual high standard and variety of entries.

Great topic, but sadly the weather forecast for the week is bright and sunny. Have to look in my archives.

As I glanced out the window at the rain that is now coming down (AGAIN!!) I had to laugh at this topic..... LOL! How perfect is this timing?!!! Rain and/or rain-related sounds good to me, and I'm sure that there will be no problem for many of us coming up with a fresh image this time around.....

I assume a stipulation around this is that it has to be a shot done in, near or during REAL rain, nothing created in-studio or with devices or software that create special effects.....

Freezing rain that turned into a little snow, then some sleet and finally a cold rain hitting me in the face as I took this pic.
Thanks for looking,
Ed

Video frame capture and not as sharp as like so may replace. Early outer bands of Hurricane Irma. While minimal winds now, the full Cat 3 force winds and rain hit during the middle of the night which is scary as things are going thump in the dark and loud thuds as trees fall.. Outside my front door.

Had to go back several months to find rain! Everything this time of year has been pretty frozen on the way down. Even in this picture it's a mix of rain and snow...
