No, I didn't want to seem too pushy. He should be receiving notifications anyway (I hope).

Cheers :)

And now for the judging, or basically my thoughts on each image. Though I am technically a professional (I make all my income from photography) I feel like an amateur compared to a lot of the regulars here on the forum.

Nice catch! I normally try not to shoot the sun in my photos so there isnt a gaping white hole in them, but I really like what you have done with it. Especially all the detail in the drone.

I have always been a fan of your photos. This one is not different, and fits the theme quite nicely.

Such a simple photo, but still moving. Well done. I enjoy the use of lines in the image a lot.

Definitely mobile in a plane. I have taken many shots similar to this one on my own travels. I just wish there was something a bit more interesting out the window. Would have loved to see more of those clouds that are in the bottom left.

Bird in flight, captured with a manual (Vivitar 400mm) lens, even though the exif data says otherwise.

_MG_6818-X3.jpg

Wow, stunning capture. I have tried (and failed) many many times to catch a bird in flight. Kudos on getting the shot, and with manual focus no less.

Good shot. Nice sharp focus. Tho this image makes me think more "on the move" than "mobile".

Taken in Buenos Aires on the River Delta. Shot with Canon Rebel T5, 50mm.

I really enjoy this photo, and it definitely hits the nail on the head for the theme. I just wish you would have cropped that wall or whatever from the left hand side. It's very distracting and adds nothing to the image.

What band is this? I think I might have been in that crowd, lol! I know the subject is the drummer, but still I would have liked to see the arms and phone in focus as they are pretty bright, and much closer to the camera. My eyes are drawn to the arms, and them being out of focus bothers me.

Wow, this is sharp as a tack. well done! Personally tho I would have shot this from just a bit higher up as right now it somewhat appears we are looking up her nose.

Change of plan

Lola - All 4 Feet
by Hugh Russell, on Flickr

Cheers :)

Definitely mobile! and even in motion. Good capture. I didnt know that dogs do the same as horses (all four feet in the air at once) now i am wondering if all four legged animals do this when they run.

And now for the winners... Drum roll please....

3rd: @Alexander.Of.Oz
2nd: @AlexH

and snagging the win this week it's...

1st: @techgrunt

Congrats to those who placed, and a very big thank you to all those who entered. Well @techgrunt it's your show now.

Thanks for the critique, and congratulations to the winners.

Lola is one of my favourite doggy friends, and when we meet her up on the playing fields everyone has to stand still when she launches into one of her runs. She's got very little braking skills!

Cheers :)

Like a Shelby GT 500... breathtaking in a straight line when accelerating... not so great at anything else? :)

In a coffee shop.
Really liked @AlexH's busy shot, - very well taken. I also hugely liked the evident warmth and affection conveyed in @MacRy's charming image and also the lovely and rather moving picture posted by @RedOctober - it is great to see ordinary people - especially women - photographed; one gets so tired of seeing models - that awful combination of stunning bodies and cold dead eyes - as the only representation of the photographed female.

Birds in flight are always difficult to capture, a terrific shot by @Alexander.Of.Oz, but I chuckled and grinned at the insane speed depicted in the shot of Lola; lovely picture @Hughmac, really liked it.

Very taken with @Apple fanboy's shot of the drone, too, excellent shot - even though I can't stand the things.

And well done to @NeGRit0 - for setting an interesting and challenging competition and for his thoughtful and positive feedback when judging.

Malnourished model bodies you mean?

Sorry guys, time got away from me (and my crappy candidates ultimately made me bottle it).

Great entries! looking forward to what is next.

Exactly. Malnourished model bodies, yes, but also entirely - and deliberately - devoid of agency, character and personality as the impassive and almost dead expression in their eyes so clearly signals.

In those competitions, I love to see real people depicted, real people - male and female both - with real, lived in faces, telling the story of their lived lives.
