The photo was more of a commentary about the modern concert venue. You are always looking through a sea of cell phones these days. Not the most spectacular image but I had some fun with it.What band is this? I think I might have been in that crowd, lol! I know the subject is the drummer, but still I would have liked to see the arms and phone in focus as they are pretty bright, and much closer to the camera. My eyes are drawn to the arms, and them being out of focus bothers me.
Well done everyone. Lots of different interpretations on mobile.
Thanks for taking the time to critique for everyone.
I'm not a big fan of drones either @Scepticalscribe. This one just turned up at this windmill I was shooting at sunrise. The guy was polite enough, and when I caught a glimpse of it through the gap beneath the windmill I asked him to hover above the sun.
Actually, it is an excellent shot, the stark lines, the lighting and pictorial composition are all excellent, and it captures the slightly sinister aspect of that flying object very well. Had I been in your shoes, I would have photographed it myself. However, speaking personally, I cannot stand them.
Thanks Ken. Of course I'm far too young to know what you mean by 1984!Precisely. I think it is a great shot too. Very 1984, thought police!

The band is Cheap Trick. I had media credentials so I was moving between the pit, VIP area and the back of the crowd. This shot was from between the crowd and the barricades at the back.
Cell phones, or worse, iPad minis, and worse still, full sized iPads held aloft, blocking views……..it can be very annoying sometimes.
I made sure I was in the aisle behind everybody.People should enjoy the moment. Leave their igadgets in their pockets and keep clear for our cameras!

I think the next time I shoot a concert I should bring my 8x10.People should enjoy the moment. Leave their igadgets in their pockets and keep clear for our cameras!

I am short of stature and I wear spectacles so much of the debate of my adult life when attending crowded, functions and gatherings where heaving masses of humanity have congregated has been about the fantasy of owning a periscope.
But what use is a periscope when faced with a wall of held aloft iPads which serve to obscure my field of possible vision a lot more than ever did a sea of bobbing human heads?
Sure, but the frame rate might be a little low. The native resolution is 24,000 x 19,200 or about 460 megapixels.Does it do 4k video?
