Los Angeles
This week I want you to represent your current location's winter, here in Los Angeles our winter looks like fall, your goal for this week is to represent your city/location. I’m looking for dramatic and beauty.

Good luck everyone.

The usual rules apply:

· The photographs must be your own work.

· Be creative and have fun.

· You may only submit one photo per contest.

· Please do not comment on photos until after the judging has taken place.

· The contest runs for a week and starts now!

· At the end of the week, The Judge (last week's Winner runner-up) will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible.

· If the Judge is unable to complete the selection within 48 hours of the deadline for close, then a vote will be carried out to select a winner. This will be based on the number of "likes" each image has. In the event of a draw, the second place winner from the previous week will choose the tiebreaker.

· The 1st place Winner will start a new thread with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the Judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create new theme, after that it defers to 2nd place).

· Please update the Weekly Contest Master List when you post a new contest

I removed my entry.
I missed the entry date by a couple of days - sorry.

This is a new and current challenge. :)
I shot and edited the pic two days ago so I assume it doesn't follow the entry rules.
Winter has "left the building" around here for the next week anyway - shrug.

Where is the light coming from, including the light on the right a bit less than half way up?

Could I also ask, what do you mean by “a ‘classic’ image”?

The Sun setting though the treeline is the light source. The leaves and the ice on some branches are backlit by the warm colored sunlight. The blue cast is reflected light from the blue sky covering the rest of the sky.

"Classic" refers to the lack of clarity in the rules for the weekly contest regarding when the image was acquired.
"Classic" in my usage refers to a pic shot before the 2/4 -2/11 date interval.

I quite like this. I love the sharpness in the foreground of the boy and his dog, but the background with the snow drifts, and the fog or individual snow flakes moving because of a gust of wind with the eerie trees in the background. Could be the cover for a Dutch or Scandinavian mystery series on Netflix or similar.
