I've never done the critiques for this thread before, so I hope I was in line with what was expected! Thanks everyone for participating; I love storytelling images!
With much teeth gnashing on my part, here are my top three (but really I had a bunch of ties for places and wanted to list more!):

Thanks for the feedback. and well done to all the entries.Okay, sorry, my errands took me longer than I planned, and now I have to make it out to a swim meet, so I will be quick! Guess it's good that there weren't many entries this week.
1. @kenoh I love, love, love the light in this! So wonderful. My only real comment, which is super nit-picky is that I wish all three had been just a bit further along the path so that the girl in the back had some light on her. She kind of gets lost in the shadows. However, as the family photographer, I know all too well that sometimes you can't wait for the shot or you'll miss it all together.
2. @Foogoofish What an interesting cityscape! I like the headphones on the subject; it makes the overall image a bit more intimate since it seems like we are watching a very private moment, rather than just a gaggle of people on a rooftop viewing area. I wish there was slightly better dynamic range, but without multiple exposures layered, that'd be tough. Great eye.
3. @E3BK That looks like a grand vista! I couldn't click through to the larger version, but I love the people at the summit. Great sky and the leading road up the hill to draw in the eye.
4. @Robotti What an incredible image from a technical perspective. Love the DOF, the processing, and the obvious poise of the dancer. I do admit to wondering what strawberries and ballet have to do with each other, but it is a great, almost editorial piece.
5. @Apple fanboy What a great storytelling image. It definitely makes you wonder what they are discussing and seeing. The reflection of the archway is awesome, too.
6. @Mark0 What a cute little guy in his big hat! I love toddlers (though am thankfully past that stage with my own kids! ). I do wish there was a bit more to this, maybe something in his hand, or more of a side view with his face. However, I still love the idea of the little person in the big wide world and all that lies before them.
7. @jkramerbob So great. I love the quiet softness of this, all the while the viewer can tell that it's likely very noisy, but yet the ballplayer can tune it all out. I would recrop it if possible to straighten it so that it doesn't feel like we are falling down to the right (I'm very picky about horizon lines). Great moment.
8. @deep diver A ver similar image to J. Kramer's, the studious athlete. I think you caught a great expression. For this, I would have loved to have seen a wider angle, to show the motion and game still being played with him on the sidelines; or maybe a cast/crutch, etc. since you said he was injured. I would not have gathered that from the story in the photo itself, without the accompanying words. But a great image of determination.
9. @dwfaust super cute kids. love the braids and the peering through the banisters. Again, I personally would have liked this slightly wider to give the viewer a sense of what the kids are looking at, but it is still very adorable snap of a precious age.
10. @Indydenny OMG. The expressions on their faces, especially the girl on the left. Fantastic. I think the only thing better would have been seeing her at the moment of coming off, which seems imminent! (But I hope she hung on! )
11. @georgeinnj So I originally viewed this image on my phone and thought that it would have been a better image if you'd scooched over so the post didn't divide the couple, but then when i saw it larger on my computer, I realized that it is framed perfectly. Very telling.
12. @Alexander.Of.Oz My only question is, where's his fish???
13. @webbga Kids do the funniest things sometimes. I would have liked to have seen this from a more head on, photographer crouched kind of perspective, to "see" the thought process of the boy. Also the notion of seeing him more in his surroundings. I hope he got the rock where he wanted it!
14. @someoldguy Kids literally in a candy store! How awesome! The reflected holiday lights in the windows really add to the whimsy of this image and add in a special sense of magic. Just perfect.
