Weekly Photo Contest (July 14 - July 21): A Favorite Photo
Rules:

1. You may only submit one photo per contest.

2. The contest runs for exactly one week, from the first time stamp of the first post in the thread (this will be made by the winner of the previous week's contest).

3. Please refrain from commenting on the photos submitted in the contest. A good photograph is one that can appeal to someone who may not know much about the technical aspects of photography, so it would be best if the judge isn't swayed by someone else's opinion of the photograph.

4. The judge will choose his/her favorite at the end of the week, place a post listing it, and include a short synopsis of why he/she chose that photo. The winner is then responsible for choosing a new topic and starting a new contest thread, which will again run for exactly one week.

Note: Designer Dale will be commenting on and assisting with judging for this week's contest.

I'll start it off this week!

This is a tricky one as I don't have one favourite pictures but a selection of favourites!

As one of the only ones keen on photos at my school I never seem to be in any so I was thinking of some quirky self-portraits and I think this one turned out quite nicely!

How can anyone have just one favorite? This is one of mine , just taken with a p&s while frying on the beach in Florida some time back. I seem to always have it as wallpaper during the winter to remind me that better days are on the way.

I don't know where this ranks on my list of favorites but I wanted to post something not shown before and different than than my usual images.

I do like this approach. I wonder if perhaps the topics were getting too restrictive. I don't know........ Just a thought.

captured by accident. wanted to create a panorama and went too far off to the side. For some reason I love the contrast in nature in this image. you can see the storm but it still a very peaceful photo.
Aside from some levels, nothing was done to the shot...

This doggie was caught in London's south bank and I added some photoshop to get a livelier pink and add some vignetting to focus on the dog.


This one had no treatment whatsoever. Took in London's Docklands.
