Okay, sorry I'm late but here are comments ...
stillcrazyman - Nice pic of b&w cats sharing a classic disinterested attitude with us. I like the low angle point-of-view.
mollyc - I love the textures of the fog and dew and the light though the trees in this pic.
akash.nu - A nice pic of a snowy mountaintop hike. I can feel the cold damp air in my lungs.
Hughmac - A nice range of colors in the tree blossoms contrasting nicely with the blue sky.
tizeye - I get that weird sense of excitement, boredom and anxiety that we feel when traveling. The colors of the coatings on the plane’s windshield are interesting too.
Somepix - Well-composed image of clouds and trees. I’d love to see this one in b&w.
oblomow - We get a sense of unease from the normalcy of the scene vs. the old warning sign. It’s hard to know what we should be worried about.
Strider64 - An intricately detailed Lego street scene. A nice example of the use of the inherent shallow depth-of-field of cellphone cameras at close range.
Darmok N Jalad - I like the low angle point-of-view and the interesting reflections in the pond water.
Donka - I like that you took the effort to position the sunburst to be the Kelpie’s Eye. The pic is well-exposed given the wide dynamic range of the scene.
inkmich - I like the moody range of tones in this b&w pic of a Brooklyn restaurant at night.
Mactendo - It’s a nice pano of a horizontally flowing scene.
Janichsan - I like the mood of the angel watching over the fallen.
iMac wannabe - I have a soft spot in my heart for Lake Louise. It’s where I started with photography in 1977 using a Minolta 110 camera on a bicycle camping trip in the Canadian Rockies. Your pano takes me right back there. The reflection is nice and it’s a great spot for a pano.
Picking a winner was challenging because I left the subject matter wide open.
In the end I went with akash.nu's atmospheric mountain hike pic as First Place.
Second Place goes to Strider64, stillcrazyman, mollyc and Donka.
I really liked all the pics and it was hard to choose.
Thanks to everyone that entered and congrats akash.nu,
Ed
