Weekly Photo Contest: July 9th-16th - Flower Power

New week, new contest, new theme. I have chosen "Flower Power" as the theme.

For many, this is the season for beautiful flowers. Would love to see some photos that are so unique or beautiful that I might want to use them (with permission of course) as wallpaper for my Mac or iPad. Each photo must contain flower(s) although most anything else can be included as well. Preference given to photos that remind us of summer heat!

Enjoy the theme and have fun with it!

Rules:
  • The photographs must be your own work.
  • Be creative and have fun.
  • You may only submit one photo per contest.
  • Please do not comment on photos until after the judging has taken place.
  • The contest runs for one week, starting NOW! (see time/date stamp at the start of this thread.)
  • At the end of the week, The Judge (last week's Winner) will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible.
  • The 1st place Winner will start a new thread with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the Judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create new theme, after that it defers to 2nd place).
This contest will close on July 16th 1pm EST.

This is one of my favorite pics. I used a Nikon 60mm Macro lens and since the Dahlia was just starting to droop, I had to shoot upward at an angle against a retaining wall.
