@tizeye[/USER] Nice fast shutter to capture a moment. You have frozen the action well the water looks frozen in the air adding energy to the image. I have lost the subject a little behind the water but it would be hard to compose it how you want from the shore, possibly a tighter crop may help bring out the jetski a little more. Great image to capture the subject so sharp from such a distance.

It was difficult to decide then stumbled upon folder shot from mother's dock as my younger (10 years) brother was visiting with his son from out of State, and brother's childhood friend brought the jet skis over. The lake is large and I didn't have enough lens, shooting a Nikon D610 with a 70-300 @ 300. About a third is cropped off. I typically don't post identifiable people so that ruled out a few closer shots, with buildings and water tower backgrounds ruling out others. While the spray is obvious, what attracted me was the wake showing the path of the jetski - that is not a slalom. With darker hair that would be my nephew, fist time out on a jetski and he is popping 180's on a dime!
My original though was an exercise at a local photo club. Long "B" exposures with model swinging lightsource while another with a programable light stick (flames, cats, multicolor veil etc) ran behind creating a background.

An excellent subject for the competition and some terrific entries.

Congrats to the winners.

I thought that @anotherscotsman's entry was excellent, beautifully composed and gorgeously shot, and also really loved @Hughmac's superb (and superbly taken) shot.

And personally, as I am partial to cityscapes, I also liked @akash.nu's entry, and was very taken with the power of the motion depicted in @redshifted's entry.

Well done, some lovely entries.
