Congratulations, all! I was rather busy last week and never quite got around to either shooting something new or rummaging in my archival files, but I enjoyed seeing everyone's images.

Tizeye: aha, I had thought that sky in your image was swapped in for whatever the original had been, rather obvious, actually, so thanks for verifying that. I"m not quite sure that kind of thing is allowed in many competitions -- I know on another site in which I participate, one of the rules of their competitions is "no sky replacements, no composite images."

I'm not against this rule, but it should probably be stated by the host if that's their preference at the start of each contest. Although it might be implied in the "photographs must be your own work" clause. Probably best to be explicitly stated if the host feels strongly.

Personally I'm generally against commercial sky swaps (like those in PS/Luminar, etc) but I'm not inherently against a swap if the photographer took both the base image and the sky image, even if not at the same time. Then it's at least the whole work of the photographer. Though for some commercial work, like real estate, I don't care one way or the other about sky swaps or where they come from, and realize they are "necessary" for sales.

Doomed by insider information. I still like the photo, I felt it met the criteria, you don't see horses on beaches very often when you consider the 1000's of beaches around the world. Photo was taken on Cumberland Island. I remember my father talking about the Chincoteague Ponies that would swim out to the island every year.

Congratulation to each. I really liked the topic as something not normally thought about and loved the submissions.

The background on mine. This was from a slide scan originally taken in the 1980's. In England, you never let the weather stop you, but it wasn't really that bad a day - just wanted to improve a relatively non-descript photo as you can see from the original scan below. Accomplished sky replacement using Luminar discussed in other threads. After a more traditional sky replacement, experimented with some evening skys and brought the foreground down for dusk lighting. So much is possible!
