Weekly Photo Contest - June 18-25 - Smoke

Thanks for all the entries. Really awesome stuff and you guys have encouraged me to take more smokey pictures myself.

I’m typing this on a crowded bus on the way to the gym after work.

So here goes....

1st - @Hughmac - awesome shot my man. Love the individuality and singularity in the shot.

Joint 2nd - @Donka and @malofx - really cool shots. I love airshows and the shot of smoke and the woman somehow makes me feel the fresh carefree woman empowerment mindset.

I really felt there was a lot of effort put in by all the contestants, so congratulations to everyone :)

Okay, now that the judging is done I can tell that (at that time) my predictions in fact were Donka's, malofx's, and needfx's very evocative picture for the top three. :p

Congrats to all and an interesting topic.
I could always see what looks like a horse’s head on the front of a Viking boat in that smoke in @needfx image - very surreal.

I agree. @needfx did post a solid picture but the ones I chose kind of told me a story, if you know what I mean.

Congrat's to @Hughmac for the win. Thanks to @akash.nu for the adjudicating. I would have liked to set up something to actually capture some smoke this week, but just didn't have the time, unfortunately. I will try it at some stage though, as it's something I haven't ever tried before.

My post wasn't what I'd originally thought to enter , but I was at this wedding last Saturday . As it was some distance from home , I was staying , along with others ,at a local hotel . A shuttle had been arranged to take guests from the hotel to the wedding . While waiting for the shuttle , I noticed smoke coming out of the "smoker's post" . Kinda appropriate if you think about it . Anyway , I grabbed a quick shot with the point and shoot I had in my pocket .

Sounds dark.... Things getting on top of you? You ok? Or do you work in construction and you literally had to blast your way out a hole you fell in? :rolleyes:

The chaos of home buying in a crazy sellers market, also packing and moving, job changes, some family health stuff. Though the hole I was referring to was me saying I thought I had an entry. I had to go back 11 years to find something with smoke! :confused:

Oh yes... i hope I dont have to do that again anytime soon!

my tip? pay for the packing service... it is AMAZING how much that relieves the stress. No rubbish about getting boxes or packing materials, no days and days of packing crap you know you dont need but cant quite bring yourself to bin...

I feel for you mate.... keep the head and push on, it is only temporary...
