One thing that I have done is look at the Master List thread where all past contests are archived. With then concisely listed, you will have a list of past topics to draw ideas from - if not repeating something done years ago, a topic you can do a variation of, as was the current contest. Thanks for the backstop. I'll give it some time and decide tomorrow but I'd like to do it.
Thanks for the notes. This was a test shot and for me the fun part was that it was shot on film. It is a triple exposure on large format, 4" x 5" B&W film. A few days later I went back about ten o'clock at night and got run off by the Fun City Motel's desk clerk. I wasn't on their property but I wan't going to get into a fight over it. I think the big tripod and camera was scaring off his crack customers. The end result of the tests was this 8-exposure image of the Stratosphere.Laird Knox – This is a very interesting take on the theme. It is imaginative, playful, and fun. There is a tension between the chaotic look of the buildings at the bottom third and orderly look of the towers above them. The “FUN CITY” signs add an additional playful element.

I really liked the colors from the different light sources. I'm guessing sodium vapor and metal halide on the platforms and a tungsten white balance in the image.
