Change of entry...

In my career I was involved in pursuits of suspect craft using various boats, in this instance a 5m Avon Searider with a 90hp Mercury outboard motor.
Handling these was probably the most adrenaline fuelled fun of my whole 40 years in the job - they are an incredible ride, unsinkable with their air filled sponsons, wave hopping at 40mph, turn in their own length at high speeds.
It wasn't all fun and frolics as we were out in all weathers, summer and winter, day and night, but it was the only thing I really missed when I moved from the boat team and came ashore. I think you get the idea ;)

This is my humble and favorite ride. 1989 BMW R100GS. More than 100k miles and still proud and rumbling :)

I don't actually own a set of wheels any more, haven't for about 12 years now. I'm a tree-hugging, save the planet and use public transport kind of guy!

I had to think long and hard about what was my favourite ride, natural gas fuelled bus, electric train, electric tram... and then I remembered these human powered rickshaws that get you around in the city! They fit my green-energy ethos perfectly! :D

Well, it took a while, but I think I've got my choices. Thanks again for so many submissions. The following is my humble observation and non professional opinion on the entries.

@someoldguy - Beautiful example of open road fun. Perhaps it’s my screen, but the photo seems a little soft focused. Not that it makes it hard to look at.

@anotherscotsman - This is a very well executed shot. Very classy looking in monochrome.

@inkmich - Another great example of the Porsche. Well composed shot, even with a house in the background.

@HeadTrip - Ah, a Jeep under the stars. I’m guessing a long exposure ? I would have liked to see a bit more color and lighting, but that’s still a great shot !

@deep diver - I’m not a bicycle guy, but appreciate the design elements in this photo. Perhaps a little adjustment to the composition to see what comes after the lettering on the lower frame. Just my observations. Great shot !

@heyisti - I have been a fan of older Toyota’s for a long time. Your’s looks to be a well built and capable 4Runner. I like the tone in your photo.

@themumu - I used to ride motorcycles until a few years ago. I can only imagine riding around Greece. What an adventure. Very warm and colorful photo - in a good way !

@kenoh - Swooping lines and a little darkness work well here. So, that’s three Porsches now…. hmmm.

@keyrex - Two entries - I like the first one you posted. I don’t often think of Mercs with bright colors. It certainly looks like it belongs on a race track.

@zaphodtheprez - Great perspective shot. Good to hear you still ride it.

@imac wannabe - Well, that’s not something we see everyday… I’ll take a guess that it’s a commercial aircraft. Or the inside of a private jet…. Great perspective !

@Hughmac - Great vintage photo. ‘90s is vintage now right ? I’ll bet that was a fun and bouncy ride.

@Somepix - BMW makes some great bikes. I looked at a few before going with the Triumph. Adventure on any road….

@Alexander.Of.Oz - I admire your commitment to green energy. I don’t know if I could manage where I live. Those look to be modern versions of the older ones I’ve seen. Great nighttime shot.

@butch10x - One of the coolest classic rides. I might have tightened up the composition a bit, but I do like the lighting and the monochrome. Terrific shot !

@rx7dude - I’m trying to figure out what car that fin and light is from. Looks like an older Ford. Great photo and well done !

@Karnicopia - I almost bought a Wing. Almost. Didn’t fit me right. Great shot though.

@Apple fanboy - Golf’s are great cars. And you’ve presented this one well. Cold and wet ;)

@tcphoto1 - This is a great shot of a beautiful car. Just one nitpick thing, on the far left. Might have cropped it (or cloned it out) a bit to minimize what is visible of that person sitting. Great shot nonetheless.

@Foogoofish - Yeah, it’s a Harley… in the U.K. Like riding a Triumph here in the U.S. Nice action shot. Just enough blur to give the sense of motion.

And the winners are:

1st - @anotherscotsman - Cayman in monochrome :)

2nd - @zaphodtheprez - Simple and poignant.

3rd - @imac wannabe - Amazing flying machine !

Congrats to anotherscotsman and everyone for the terrific entries !

Thanks as always for the judging - and don't blame me, blame the mad man that bought it! My uncle rides a Triumph in Pennsylvania, and Step Father a Harley in the UK.. Go figure...

@imac wannabe - what a class shot. I spent a good hour googling the jets after seeing that.

You know it's pure luxury when the cockpit looks like that!

I have an odd question that I've been thinking for a while regarding modern jets... If you could indulge me I would much appreciate it! Do you have to change from being right to left handed when you are promoted from FO to Captain?

:s Thanks!

Great question! Actually you adapt pretty quickly with either hand. this is the first fly-by-wire aircraft I've flown. I'm use to having a yoke coming up from the floor between my legs. In this aircraft I can cross my legs! Nicest flying plane I've flown and I've been flying 30 years professionally.

Great shots and great subjects by everyone! I appreciate the mention:)
