This week's contest theme is "B&W Silhouette". I thought that limiting it to black and white may make it a little more challenging.

The usual rules apply:

· The photographs must be your own work.

· You may only submit one photo per contest.

· No commenting on photos until after the judging has taken place.

· This contest runs for one week, starting now.

· At the end of the week, The Judge (last week's Winner) will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible.

· If the Judge is unable to complete the selection within 48 hours of the deadline for close, then a vote will be carried out to select a winner. This will be based on the number of "likes" each image has. In the event of a draw, the second place winner from the previous week will choose the tiebreaker.

· The 1st place Winner will start a new thread with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the Judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create new theme, after that it defers to 2nd place).

I may need some assitance updating the Weekly Contest Master thread ... anyone?

Are you considering a silhouette to be shape only, or is it okay to have light spill on the subject(s) revealing some detail?

Philadelphia.
I'll go.
I shot this a couple of weeks ago as part of a nighttime group outing. This was the first time I have gone out specifically for a night shoot. I ended up playing with two themes. One was light vs dark, and the other was companionship vs loneliness. I think (I hope) this image captured both.

EDIT: I replaced my entry with a different B&W rendering that Mrs. Diver wanted me to use. She's probably right.

It’s supposed to be black and white. :)

True that. Thank you. I'll be back. (I hope it work as B&W).

You can do a plot twist with interpretation of what black and white might mean. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Essentially your entry could be seen as the 2 sides of life, Black and White, yin and yang.

Image is changed. Thanks for having my back.

Thanks. I meant I hope the image renders well. Right now I am too hungry and tired to think.

Dinner awaits...

I'm not a stickler for rules, but let's just say "the more silhouette-y ... the better"
