cmd+tab - cycle through apps
cmd+' - cycle through windows in the current app
ctrl+F4 - cycle through all open windows (when full keyboard access is turned on (ctrl+F1)).

Ctrl+F4 doesn't work entirely like alt+tab on windows though, the windows stay in the same order in the cycle instead of being reordered when you switch focus.

I recommend just trying the "Apple way" for a while, and you'll probable find that it's more useful to be able to cycle apps and windows separately.

You should try iPhoto for the photos. It's easier to organise and rotate photos in iPhoto than in the Finder. It's also very easy to pick out the photos you want to do something more with. Just select the pictures and drag them to another application or to the Finder if you want to copy them to another location.

Wow... that's a lot of comands... Not seeing one that will do what I'm wanting though... I guess I'm just going to have to get use to expose and not minimize windows since it won't show those and you can't syscle through them. Thanks for the help.

gekko513 - I'm using Adobe Bridge now to view the photos that I want... it works pretty well.

Really really new Mac (read 3 days worth) user here, with something I only just figured out.

I've been having the devil of a time opening and editing photos from iPhoto into Photoshop 8.0 Terribly used to a little powertoy for WinXP called Image resizer, which can resize images on the fly, even when inserting them into a different application, or a file upload on a forum.

I went into iPhoto and then set the Preferences to "open pictures in Application" and chose Photoshop. It's a cumbersome workaround, to be sure.

Is there any way to rezise/edit on the fly? And have pictures auto-labelled as a copy?

TIA, all.

You can export images from iPhoto from the Share menu, if you select JPG (JPEG) (or leave it as the current format if the resize options aren't greyed out.) you can then choose the resolution of the image. You can then save them to the desktop for easy uploading.

if you want dash board to always be seeable, the answer is no.
if you want something that has the same puropse, download yahoo widget engine, it's GREAT, it does the same as dashboard, but widgets are right on the desktop!

I'll be honest, I really don't know what exactly you are doing with photos and I can't tell exactly why you are doing what you are doing, but I can say that maybe the program Batch can help you. It does not allow your resizing on the fly (that I know of) but it does allow for easy resizing of large groups of pictures, which can be nice for taking all your high-resolution digital camera pictures and making smaller copies to use for web pages, email exchanges, etc. Batch will rename them for you so you will still retain the original large photos.

Something else to try: Go to either versiontracker.com or macupdate.com and look through all the apps that involve photo editing. Perhaps something will catch your eye. Or you could try going to: http://osx.hyperjeff.net/Apps/ which is a very nice collection of mac os x native apps by category. (admittedly the application descriptions are spartan and there are MANY apps to scroll through, but it can be fun to find new cool apps this way)

PS Asking a question in another persons thread is known as threadjacking and is not good to do. From now on, simply start a new topic for your question (and you will get much more meaningful help that way anyway).
