mine has a tiny scratch on it too...about a half an inch long in the upper right hand side of the screen. it's only visible at certain angles in a well lit area, but i know its there and i see it well. i'm really really pissed off right now. no clue how it happened. my phone always stays in my hands and rarely leaves my pocket. i guess it musta been some sand or dirt in my pocket that did the trick. not realy sure what to do now... i'll try and post some pictures tonight

the screen of mine has yet yo scratch, but some idiot i let use mine dropped it, and the back is scratched. I just ordered the invisible shield, and it will get here tomorrow. I had a case, but it snapped to pieces, and i also decided i like the thinness of the phone, so shield it is!

Well.. i dono so far no scratches!! (knock on wood!) but i did get invisablesheild and that thing is AWESOME!! i love it.. i don't have to wrry bout it at all getting scratched.. only the silver part... but oh well...

Just a little update. I called Apple and they are going to replace the iphone screen for free! According to them, it has to be a hardware issue because the screens arent supposed to scratch :D

haha are you serious?!?! i called yesterday to tell them about my scratch and they told me i could send it in and they'd fix it for like $250.00

what exactly did you tell them? are they sending you a brand new phone or a refurbished phone?

I have a line going through my :apple: logo. There was a post a few days ago about using "Never Dull" to polis the chrome. I was going to try this. I think with electrical tape and a razor I should beable to mask off the area around the logo and it should turn out nicely. I'll post once I find the time to do this with before and after photos. I also have a few small barely noticable scratches on the chrome ring that I plan to clean up.

Congrats man. That kicks ass.

for your new screen, try a protector. a good one is the BW UltraClear Cellphone S/P (iPhone) http://shop.brando.com.hk

Keep livin' the dream and party like a rockstar!

I guess the best approach is to tell them that you have no idea how it scratched, and that it has been on the phone since you received it. There's no noticable damage from a potential drop, plus there aren't scratches on the perifery of the iphone's bezel, so they assumed that it was hardware defect. Obviously it wasn't, but hey, if they will replace it for free i'm all for it! They're sending me a loner phone in the meantime while they replace the screen, and I should be getting it today :cool:Thanks to everyone to helped!

i would love to see pictures.... everytime i see a thread like this there is never any pictures....

I AM YET TO SEE A SCRATCHED screen ... not one pic... please post one

My screen is not only scratched, it's got a sort of small crack in the very top. Don't remember any drop. The chrome is also scratched noticeably (to me, at least... haven't had anyone else using it say anything unless I brought it up first).

I'm at about 15 days.

Other than that, my iPhone experience has been nearly flawless. It's just irritating to have nicks on it. I think I'll just get a tight case for it.

see if they can replace yours, apple support is usually very good. They have been for me at least.

Also, for the scratches, I've tried many screen protectors, the best is the power support crystal film. It feels like the real screen and I don't even notice it unless I look at the button to see the little circle around the circle. Its worth the 15 bucks. And for the back I use Bestskinsever. Works like a charm, not as appealing as the original iPhone back, but adds grip and won't get scratched, its cheaper than the invisible shield and it looks and feels like the same quality. And when you go to the FAQ on the bestskinsever website they claim there is no difference and its about $20 cheaper.

Just my 2 cents.

Nothing is scratch proof or indestructible.
Its a cellphone not a hammer :D
