Ok let me tone it down a bit here... I wasn't a hater... but more of a... its not for me mindset.

until I realized that I was never really using my MBP to its fullest... just do random web surfing... lots of media... photos, vids, and music.

really it turned out it was exactly what I needed.
that is exactly how I would sum up my initial thoughts. i was hoping for a MBP but thinner, and when the Air came out it seemed like a bit of a let down. but after spending some time on one at an Apple store, I realized it had all I was actually looking for...and more.

I didn't hate it or even dislike it when it was introduced. I just thought I wasn't in the niche that needed it. Until a couple of my friends got them. I really want one but can't justify (to myself) actually buying it. I don't do enough travel to need it. But it would be my laptop of choice if I needed a laptop, and that's an opinion I didn't have initially.

One part of me says the MBA is an overpriced slow featureless POS, the other part of me thinks its the best laptop anyone has ever made.

I wasn't a hater as such. I saw it as what it was: A very compromised, very good looking, half-assed 'ultraportable'. I bought it to see if I was right or not. I was. The one major negative thing that I did expect given an Apple notebook and have been very surprised not to happen is that it has not drooped or bent. Apparently it's only the Professional ones that do.

I owned the air for a good week before returning it.. but I'm contemplating buying one again since the new update for the smc fan.. damn if only the fan didnt run so high in rpm most of the time then I would have kept it as everything else was perfect...
