What about your Mac gives you that warm, fuzzy feeling?

Being a week-old switcher, what gives me the fuzzies is the fact that I can hammer and hammer away on it, and it still comes back for more. There doesn't seem to be any bogging down, no hesitation.

I think of it like driving vs. flying. Driving encounters intersections, roadblocks, and detours. Flying is free, smooth, and you can change direction whenever you want.

GOSH I'm glad I switched.
 
Welcome to the world of Macs! Glad you're glad you switched, I know I am! What I really like is just the whole Aqua UI of OS X. I've long thought that Windows works and thinks like a computer, so it's alien for a person to use it. However, OS X works and thinks like a person, Just as you think it does.
 
Expose. Every time I use it I feel good because it's probably the single most useful feature that's come out since the desktop + window system was invented. f10, f11 and f12 are my friends.
 
my powerbook gives me the warms (ppc g4, HOT) and my ipod's case gives me that fuzzy feeling (its fuzzy). does that count?

My PB keeps me warm too, especially when I'm using it in bed. As for fuzzy, I'm not really sure...
 
Putting my laptop on my lap gives me a really warm feeling, that guy gets toasty!
 
My PowerBook works flawlessly. I've not encountered a single glitch. Not even a dead pixel.

My PowerMac G4 because it looks beautiful, still a brilliant machine, and i know still has life plenty of left in it.

My iMac G3 because it's still running brilliantly despite it's age, and it serves my family well for internet etc.

Oh, OS X is superb too!

i just switched a week ago too, and I would have to say that it is just the build quality and the meticulous design, of both the exterior and OS X.

It is just so easy to use, and everything just works seamlessly - and everything is integrated to work, as opposed to windows boxes where most things seem tacked on like an after thought.

its expensive but you get what you pay for, a top quality machine, with top components from software to superbright screens.:rolleyes:

I cant believe how amazing Mac OS X is, I am a believer!
With windows it seemed like your computer aged(the longer you use it the slower it got). I cannot believe I can work for hours and hours never rebooting and my computer is just as snappy as it was before.

I love the look of OSX so much detailed paid attention to shadow and motion and movement of the componensts, nice icons, not those crazy cheap looking flat windows icons.

The simplicity of the OS.

The pure beauty of the machines, asbolutely heart the design.

The mac subculture and helpful community.

I totally agree with your statement about PC's aging. For example, when you upgrade from Windows 98 to XP, even on a decent computer, you notice a large decrease in speed, and usually will end up wanting to upgrade the RAM or something like that.

With Apple, I've noticed some speed INCREASES when one upgrades. That's the way it should be; an upgrade is actually an upgrade in speed, as well as functionality.

Mac OS will eventually out-evolve Windows, and the rest of the world will see the light.
 
this gets me warm and fuzzy

1. it's fast
2. expose is just awesome...windoze sucks so bad without this feature
3. colour coding..i have various codes and it's great for keeping organized
4. rock solid OS
5. i love the fact that if Ithink of an idea for something handy on the mac, no doubt, someone's written an app for it. :)
and finally,
6. application integration. seriously, can it get any easier to hop around apps, dropping and dragging assets etc..etc... AMAZING!
 
The fact that macs rarely have given me trouble to be honest. I dislike the fact that my pc before I threw it by the wayside corrupted my maxtor boot drive and I had to pay 200 dollars to get it repaired. Dislike that intensely.

Ironically my Alum Powerbook doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling. When it feels cold to the touch it is cold as ice. Which is why I prefer my ibooks to be honest.
 
The simple, sleek, logical, and very useful layout of OSX. I'm a switcher as of a few weeks ago, and I couldn't be happier. It's a beautiful OS; stable and functional.

The dock and dashboard is cool too. :cool:
 
Probably the thing that struck me most when I first switched was the SILENCE. I could do my computer work and not go deaf from the noise of my PC.

The best thing, however, is not having to constantly "fight" with Windows to keep it running. I was a Windows user since the beginning, and still feel most comfortable there from a familiarity standpoint, but I always hated having to spend so much of my time fussing with the computer.

I also like how the Mac just always instantly responds, even when waking from screen saver mode. My XP laptop at work sometimes takes as much as a half minute to "wake up" when I come in in the morning (and no, sleeping is disabled).

And lastly, I just bought a clamshell iBook with OS9, and was amazed at how fast it boots up and shuts down. Very close to instant on!

What gives me that warm fuzzy feeling? Well for one the excellent GUI. You have to love how shiny everything looks and how well it all blends together (for the most part anyway). A huge positive for me is the iLife suite. The apps seamlessly communicate with one another so well, I love it. :D I may sound like an advertisement, but ask anyone else here and I'm pretty sure they'll agree with me. Oh and I love the all the hidden keyboard commands/shortcuts in Tiger. Play with Expose in slow motion and you'll know what I am talking about. :)
 
I just noticed, no one has posted the fact that Quartz natively supports PDF. Long gone for me are the days where you had to install Acrobat reader after a format.

That IS a great feature! Yea!
 
The system font on both OS9 and OSX is what always got me. Before I switched, I use to always like that system font on OS9 and rubberband windows and Platinum sounds reeled me in.
