Edit: Flux is arguably my all time favorite tweak. Whenever I use a device without flux late at night, I am quickly reminded of flux's greatness. It's easy to forget its impact.

My vote goes to fakeclockup. I just restored a day ago due to iOS 7 coming out soon and my phone feels like it's in slow-mo. :( Really hating being on stock.

How is it fake? It works exactly as it's supposed to: speeding up the animations. Of course it does nothing to the clock speed of the CPU but that's not the point of it anyway.

You realize that the animation speeds are preset by the OS, right? It has nothing to do with the hardware. What fakeclockup proves is that the current batch of iPhones (I've not used it on older iPhones) are capable of being much snappier than they are now but are limited by a set animation speed determined by the OS. These slow animations, if sped up, can improve the experience in my opinion by making all actions you do be more responsive. I don't need an animation that lasts almost a second to go from A to B. I'd rather cut that time in half and go from A to B way faster.

Personally, I think Apple should speed up those animations by default because they're way too slow as they are now. After spending months with the setting at 1.6x, it's hard to go back.

Except my phone ain't even jailbroken now in anticipation for iOS 7. Judging by feedback from the betas though, seems I'll be needing fakeclockup on that too if and when a jailbreak comes out for it.

It only speeds up the animations, it spins faster, it does not speed up the actual process, it looks faster therefore you think it is faster. You are still waiting the same amount of time before a process starts up.

Again, doesn't matter. Some processes are instant such as navigating within menus and submenus (in messages, music player, settings etc.) and are only limited by the animations themselves. Others, like switching apps, you're still saving time by speeding up the animations as the apps only start to load after the animation is completed. However, if an app is still suspended in RAM, the only thing limiting the switching of apps is speed is the animation itself as no reloading is necessary.

If you're cutting animation times in half, it's still rendering the phone faster as it can switch to the next process that much faster.

You're arguing over nothing. You can't deny that the speed of the animation affects workflow. Here's a thought: Instead of speeding them up, imagine slowing down the animations even more, say make the animation length to last 5 seconds, and tell me that you don't notice a difference in how fast your phone is.

I disagree, the animation looks faster, but it doesn't effect process speed, that can only be solved by a faster CPU, or overclocking a slower CPU hence the name Fakeclockup

I never said it affects process speed, but it does affect overall workflow speed as it does in fact reduce time wasted between processes.

Process A > Process B

> being the animation in between. Shorten the duration of > will still shorten the entire workflow even if speed of A and B remain constant.

Get it now?
