Whitelisting a site is built into Safari. When on the site right click the address bar and choose Settings For This Website. Uncheck Enable Content Blockers. Site will be whitelisted from ad blocking in the future.I was using Ghostery. In general I was happy with it, but it does not block ads on YouTube and I had the weird issue that it was working only on 2 out of 3 Macs.
After reading about Wipr here, I've installed it and I have to say it works very well. I'm positively surprised. The only thing I'm missing is the possibility to whitelist, but I hope this will come in a future release.

Did you know AdGuard is headquartered in Moscow? Made me uninstall that app real quick.I have AdGuard on my MacBook Air and 1Blocker on my iMac. I prefer AdGuard. Only reason I moved to 1Blocker was that I thought AdGuard was the culprit for some freezes I was experiencing a few months ago. 1Blocker probably has more granular controls but it's also not as easy to use.
Just bought a Raspberry Pi 400 to play around with, and will probably set PiHole up on itPiHole.....and 1blocker for whatever does not get caught.
I use Adguard for Mac. It runs at the system level blocking ads for browsers, and other apps. No need for browser extensions.
