What are the best ad-blockers for Safari 14.0?

I'm seeing increasingly more options failing between ad guard, wipr, and others.

What works for you?

I was using Ghostery. In general I was happy with it, but it does not block ads on YouTube and I had the weird issue that it was working only on 2 out of 3 Macs.

After reading about Wipr here, I've installed it and I have to say it works very well. I'm positively surprised. The only thing I'm missing is the possibility to whitelist, but I hope this will come in a future release.

Whitelisting a site is built into Safari. When on the site right click the address bar and choose Settings For This Website. Uncheck Enable Content Blockers. Site will be whitelisted from ad blocking in the future.

I have AdGuard on my MacBook Air and 1Blocker on my iMac. I prefer AdGuard. Only reason I moved to 1Blocker was that I thought AdGuard was the culprit for some freezes I was experiencing a few months ago. 1Blocker probably has more granular controls but it's also not as easy to use.

Did you know AdGuard is headquartered in Moscow? Made me uninstall that app real quick.

I use Adguard for Mac. It runs at the system level blocking ads for browsers, and other apps. No need for browser extensions.

system level block ads actually scares me from privacy point of view. Thats the reason I don't use adguard.
I use DDG extension plus safari embedded tracker blocker and its kinda usable. I guess after the honeymoon phase of my M1 is over I will move to Firefox with ublock origin again.

Tried them all, Adguard is the only one that blocks everything consistently. It's not even close IMO. Switched from the Mac standalone app since it needs to do some proxy/VPN crap on Big Sur to the extension and couldn't be happier.
