Great stuff. The season being what, and how, it is I've also been listening to more or less the same type of music lately; Carpenter Brut, Power Glove and Perturbator to name a few. What still irks me is that the times Carpenter Brut and Perturbator have played here I've managed to somehow miss their shows. All work and no play etc. etc.

Anyway, currently listening to The Sisters of Mercy while enjoying a bottle of wine a friend graciously brought over a while ago.

Ahh, too bad you missed the show(s). That would be really cool to see one in person.

Now I'm on to Lazerpunk.

Outstanding, I'm usually not a GH type person, but Vol I is pretty terrific (CD right behind me) :D

Hey, that's pretty fun, sometimes I can totally get into instrumental, techno where it's just a driving rhythm ...

Not all of it is instrumental, but there is a good mix of both out there; vocals and instrumental. I actually prefer the instrumental stuff more because when I'm listening to it I can concentrate on what I'm working on a lot better.

Right now I'm listening to Electric Dragon.

Before that I was listening to MASTER BOOT RECORD.

Oh very cool, yeah, I did a really quick review and didn't hit any vocals, but I dig on it, Electric Dragon I've heard a few tracks (from a friend), good stuff, will also check out MBR (hahaha, that's deliciously nerdy!)

Tonight for me it's Sonic Youth, The Destroyed Room. My favorite track might be Blink. I could swear they sampled a few bits here off a curve in the subway tracks, and some of the rest underwater while some outfit was trying to raise up the wreck of an old submarine. It's strangely calming though. Anyway it reminds me of NYC, which I still miss the most for some reason during autumn.

I can see
My body move
It goes without me

What I used to be
Prove it

A breath for you
No kiss
My tears they fly
In the wind

I blink you die

'Cause you believe
In what I can't see

My body moves
It goes without me

It used to
Dance, one, two, one, two
It used to
Prance, one, two, one, two

Now I follow you
Forever
You compel me to

Fly
Flew

I blink and see
Nothing

Forever

One, two, one, two

I ache for you

My soul has got a hole
To see you through

I've never heard of Sonic Youth before and queued up the album and track (Blink) you mentioned and I liked it. Now I'm sampling other tracks on the album and so far so good.

I had "big" plans to spend the evening in front of the TV before going to work but somehow it turned into an evening of listening to good music, instead. Not that I'm complaining. One of the albums that found it's way into the player was The Good Son by the greater than great Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. This is definitely one of my favorite songs of theirs.
