Killer Joe off that same album “Hot Hands.” I’d throw a YT link up, but I’m on my phone right now. The bass line grooves though!!

A wee bit too indigenous for my personal taste, but still very enjoyable.
An occasional treat for the ears (and soul).

And I love the true passion that seems to me to be evident in this piece, - there is nothing mannered about it, for, sometimes, when a harp (any harp) makes an appearance, the music can be very mannered - not to mention the utter mastery of an instrument that is not easy to master.

Several (of the less well known) tracks from Jan Hammer's amazing (and still, spine-tingling, at times), soundtrack from the 1980s TV series Miami Vice:

The Trial & The Search;

Last Flight;

Shadow In The Dark;

The Talk;

and,

Payback.

I watched the concert film last night, never gets old! If you haven't seen it, there's something wrong with you. And if you haven't heard this record, there's REALLY something wrong with you! This is literally one of the best albums ever made.

hmmm....I've occasionally wondered if there was something wrong with me, and now I know what it is :cool:

Aretha has always been utterly fantastic.

Thank you for sharing this.

Several years ago, (when my mother was not just still with us, but mentally alive and alert and fully fine), we were fortunate to have been able to attend a live concert where Mavis Staples performed, which was wonderful; she was gracious and gifted, and utterly professional, an amazing artist, who kindly made time afterwards to sign autographs and meet (and greet) those who wished to talk to her.
