In almost exactly the same boat. Had a conference last week that I thought would have benefited me having one so as not to have to pull my phone from my pocket, but outside of that I question the need.
Trying to keep myself from buying a 2015 model rMBP. I want a Mac so badly (especially before college starts), but there's no way I can pay $2000+ for an "outdated" device. Just going to have to wait for the new one, whenever it comes out...
You can always go the 'refurb' route; this allows for the purchase of computers that have all of the guarantees and warranties of brand new computers, but are offered for sale at a decent discount.

When my long serving small form wired Apple keyboard packed a sad, I resisted buying one of these, which I have tried in a shop, and do like:
And have ordered one of these at almost half the price, and really more suited to my needs:
The shop said it would arrive by the end of the week.

The full key keyboard is my favorite. The 10 key has saved my sanity a million times over
another mandolin, newer car or truck, electric bicycle, more fishing rods, apple watch and presents for loved ones
Refurb or a lightly used second hand MacBook. I've seen some great prices on this board in the marketplace subforum

No I get that. Just the numbers go up to nine, which is what confused me.
I have the small keyboard at home and full size at work. I'll order full size next time for sure.
I got what you meant but don't think others did which is why I had to sort of explain it.
