periscope lens (anything 5-6x or more) and USB-C - not necessarily a "prediction" but if those 2 aren't offered, my 13PM will live another year. Anything beyond that is icing on the cake for me

What about Liquid Metal? 🤔 Apple keeps renewing their deal with the amorphous alloy company but as of yet hasn’t used it for anything besides the sim tray ejection tool.

I think it would be really hard to find a composite material that would match the strength the weight ratio of titanium honestly.

Ceramic would be awesome but I think more brittle. Phones need more drop protection than a watch. Ceramic would still be awesome in an Apple Watch. I’d buy that in white for sure.

Carbon fiber with a cool raw weave would survive impacts with the right material, but I don’t think most people would want that look. Paint over the carbon fiber would chip and crack every time you dropped it. Think carbon fiber car parts.

Personally, I think some kind of grippy rubberized coating over at Ti or carbon frame that sort of looked and felt like a case; that could be replaced when it got scratched or damaged, that eliminated the need for any kind of aftermarket case would be perfect. They will never to that because there is an entire ecosystem on aftermarket cases.

That it probably won't be called the Ultra. Leakers have a pretty bad track record with names (iPhone 9=SE 2020, iPhone 12s=iPhone 13, iPhone 14 Max=iPhone 14 plus).

Other than that, I can say that for myself I would probably not consider the pro max/"ultra" model until they reduce the weight. The size is fine and I personally would like to go for a model with a display bigger than 6.1 inch, but its too much with the stainless steel. Titanium would be a big plus and would likely move me over to the max model.

Either way I'll probably be ordering the 14 pro soon so the 16 ultra awesome max model matters more to me.

I was going to wait until the iPhone 15 Pro Max(Ultra) to upgrade my iPhone 11 Pro Max… but my iPhone 11 Pro Max just died a horrible death, so now I need a new phone. Looks like the iPhone 14 Pro Max is my next phone. 😉

A titanium phone structure would not be lighter than aluminum. It would be 10’s of times stronger than aluminum though.

A ti version might weigh 20 grams less than the Stainless. That’s literally like 2 to 4 sugar packets.. Imperceptible.
20g can feel different, especially when you hold a Pro Max size iPhone but at the weight of the regular aluminum iPhone. It will be like the iPhone 5 all over again, the feeling of how light the phone is.

USB C, no freaking excuse that the 14 has the lightning still. cancelled by 14 pro max order after thinking about usb c and how nice it will be next year to carry one cable for my iphone and ipad

Given that the Pro Max is supposedly 60% of all iPhone 14 orders, and the SE going 6.1” it’s clear consumers and Apple are in alignment on huge screens.

My totally speculative guess on an embiggened lineup:
- 6.1” iPhone SE
- 6.1-6.3” iPhone 15
- 6.7” iPhone 15 Pro
- 6.8”+ iPhone 15 Ultra

I personally hope it has an even bigger display than the current pro max’s. Let’s get a 7.2 inch display! Frankly the max is still too small for me. Essentially all smartphones all use the 6.7 it’s annoying no options above that. Unless Samsung paves the way that isn’t a fold phone no one is going to do it ever ugh!!!! Anyways here’s a tri fold phone. The area in the middle is what I want. Perfect size for a quote “ultra” phone

It will be the most expensive iPhone yet.

As for that person that mentioned liquid metal - those rumors harken back to the iPhone 4 era - it’s not going to happen (but in this case I wouldn’t mind being wrong as it’s so cool). Maybe titanium but I still prefer stainless steel!

6.8- and 7-inch models from Oppo already out this year. They're positioned as a cheaper alternative to the Find N. It's just a matter of time before Apple adopts it. We saw the same 6.1-inch trends trickle down to NA markets.

iPhone 15 will increase to “Dynamic Country” and you’ll be wishing for them to bring the small notch back. 😁:D

Next year should be a big update for all iPhone 15 models (especially after the backlash of the base iPhone 14 this year). USB-C is probably coming to all models, along with some design upgrades. Dynamic island should also make its way down. I can’t see them putting an M chip in a phone. Even on the iPads, it’s been overkill. Price wise, I can’t see them going too far above the current pro max price, especially if the Ultra replaces the Pro Max. Here’s my guess:

- 3nm A17 for Pro and Ultra (base iPhones get A16)

- Periscope camera zoom (pro and ultra)

- Titanium chassis (exclusive to ultra)

- “Action button” for quick launching apps or certain task (exclusive to ultra)

- 8K video (Pro and ultra)

- Better mics for recording (ultra)

- Pin hole camera cutout with under display FaceID. Still grows and expands for “dynamic island” (Exclusive to ultra)

- Price $1399
This. I’m not so sure about the Ti body, but everything else seems like moves APL would make. Hopefully USB-C is introduced too. I’d consider buying this.

Yes please. Big screens. I think perhaps they are afraid it might cut into their iPad market.
