I have been reading - and thoroughly enjoying - the quite wonderful "Temeraire" series by Naomi Novik; brilliant stuff.
If you haven't already, read Clarke's "Rendezvous with Rama". His best, in my opinion.Finished Moon is a Harsh Mistress, brought back memories from my teenage years when I was reading Heinlein for the first time.
I seem to be in the mood for revisiting these classic SF novels, decided to re-read Childhoods End and am realizing that this is probably the first time I've read it again for several decades. Almost as good as reading it the first time . . .

Yes, I've read Rama (again, many years ago), will probably read it again soon as well.If you haven't already, read Clarke's "Rendezvous with Rama". His best, in my opinion.
I'd love to an adaptation but only if they stay true to the book. There wasn't a lot of drama in the story and i know they love to add things like that.Yes, I've read Rama (again, many years ago), will probably read it again soon as well.
I think there is a movie adaptation of Rama coming out soon?

Started last month with The Wheel of Time series, by now I'm 200 pages in the fourth book, still eleven books to go.
Eh...you only have about 3,000 pages to go.Best success, I’m still on it myself, currently in book 11 but I’m a slow reader with not that much time these days.

Anne Hillerman is the daughter of the late Tony Hillerman, who wrote a number of novels set in the Navajo and Hopi reservations in the Four Corners region.
I loved reading his books, as I spent a lot of time in that part of the country. I was skeptical of Ms. Hillerman's ability to carry on with the characters that her father created, as that sort of thing doesn't always (or even often) work out well. I was very pleasantly surprised, however, and will be reading more of her work. It's not Tony, but it's quite good.
Ouch, the movies were ok, not on par with the OT LOTR (where have I experienced that before*) but enjoyable. The book was fun though, though I read Tolkien rewrote it in light of what he wrote in the LOTR.Going to revisit "The Hobbit" as I have not read it in over 30 years... if not longer. What is sad, is I can only remember the movies at this point.
