This and it's brilliant.

A modern day retelling of The Odyssey... in a way...

Finished Moon is a Harsh Mistress, brought back memories from my teenage years when I was reading Heinlein for the first time.

I seem to be in the mood for revisiting these classic SF novels, decided to re-read Childhoods End and am realizing that this is probably the first time I've read it again for several decades. Almost as good as reading it the first time . . .

If you haven't already, read Clarke's "Rendezvous with Rama". His best, in my opinion.

Yes, I've read Rama (again, many years ago), will probably read it again soon as well.

I think there is a movie adaptation of Rama coming out soon?
I'd love to an adaptation but only if they stay true to the book. There wasn't a lot of drama in the story and i know they love to add things like that. :)

I just did a quick Google search, does look like there are now plans for a movie. I knew I had read something along these lines recently:

Started last month with The Wheel of Time series, by now I'm 200 pages in the fourth book, still eleven books to go.

Best success, I’m still on it myself, currently in book 11 but I’m a slow reader with not that much time these days.

Eh...you only have about 3,000 pages to go. ;)

I know, but book 10 really killed my joy with the series, hence I’m taking it easier and stopped reading for a bit. I’ll pick it up every now and then to take it smaller bits now.

I just started "Project Hail Mary" by Andy Weir. Hoping it's as good as "The Martian", which I read when it was still a self-published book, and remarked to my wife that it would make a good movie...

Anne Hillerman is the daughter of the late Tony Hillerman, who wrote a number of novels set in the Navajo and Hopi reservations in the Four Corners region.

I loved reading his books, as I spent a lot of time in that part of the country. I was skeptical of Ms. Hillerman's ability to carry on with the characters that her father created, as that sort of thing doesn't always (or even often) work out well. I was very pleasantly surprised, however, and will be reading more of her work. It's not Tony, but it's quite good.

Going to revisit "The Hobbit" as I have not read it in over 30 years... if not longer. What is sad, is I can only remember the movies at this point.

Ouch, the movies were ok, not on par with the OT LOTR (where have I experienced that before*) but enjoyable. The book was fun though, though I read Tolkien rewrote it in light of what he wrote in the LOTR.

*Something about a double Jar Jar and somehow Palpatine returning.
