Well this one just jumped onto my "Faves" list!

I actually read it in one day. I just finished!

178 pages so it wasn't too hard to do... ;)

Just started "The Stalin Affair. The Impossible Alliance that Won the War" by Giles Milton. One of my favourite authors.

That looks like it will be interesting, thanks for pointing it out. Be sure to let us know what you think after you finish!

Two related books I liked:

(the other alliance that started the war)

("plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose")

I started reading the 3 books that the Silo series is based on. I understand it will take another 2 years for the final conclusion. I do not want to wait this long :)
The books were enjoyable and that show has been following along relatively closely to the books, which is strange as normally TV and Movie writers think they have a better vision for these stories then what the author had.

Started reading The Morning Star by Karl Ove Knausgård:

It's the first in a series; 3 have been translated into English, but Knausgård is apparently already working on the 6th. The basic premise is a strange star appears in the sky and is accompanied by unexplainable and menacing things happening in the world. The book follows several characters as they observe and react to these things. It's bizarre, unsettling, and I'm liking it.

Just finished The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell. He is probably better known for Cloud Atlas, and there is definitely a common style between the two novels. It was very very good. It follows a women from adolescence through old age. It includes many fantasy elements and it does have a bit of a dystopian feel to it. At a times, it’s a bit challenging to follow the shifting perspective of the narrative, but well worth the effort.

Just started reading Confederacy of Dunces. 4 chapters in and it is probably the funniest book I have ever read, and the story of how it was published is amazing as well. Really well written and the author brings everything to life, a shame he died so young and that it took his mom getting it to someone to read before any publisher would touch this masterpiece.
