So, you want to know what chair I use at my desk...

Well, during the summer, my previous office chair completely broke, so I'm using this plastic Lifetime chair temporarily... IMG_1449.JPG

Steelcase Cachet

I needed a chair that was relatively affordable, would be easy to clean, and would do well in a poorly controlled climate (wide range of humidity/temperatures). Through 5 years it has served me well.

In a coffee shop.
And still very happily using my Klöber Management Task Swivel chair, (from their Moteo Executive line) which I had custom made to order - I wanted leather, and arm-rests, among other things - around a decade ago. Very comfortable, very ergonomic, very stylish.

And, for dining, I use a Klöber (Moteo) Conference Swivel Chair, which I ordered at the same time.

One of the ikea Markus chairs.

It needs a bit more padding but otherwise a good chair. I didn’t install the arm rests.

I also use a Markus but definitely had to take out the 'cushion' that was really pushing into my lower back. That thing really hurt!
Funnily enough this chair is a downgrade from my previous chair, which had great arm rests that could be adjusted, but that thing was totally disintegrating lol

I got really lucky. When my sister's company replaced their office chairs, they let the employees take the old ones home and my sister gave each me and my mom one. They're these really nice chairs from a company called HumanScale-

They were in great condition, as if they were barely used. Very comfortable and very good quality. I'd never spend that much on a chair, it's insane, but I'll take one for free lol.

Those look really good, solid metal bases too.

I remember in a previous workplace the office chairs had fairly hefty looking plastic bases but a couple of larger folk (one with a rugby player build and size) soon proved how flimsy those chairs were. Usually accompanied by a loud "crack" sound and the occupant of the seat going flying.

They soon got rid of those chairs.
