I wonder how a space gray iPP will look in the white Magic Keyboard? I could go silver this time, but I do love the SG 12.9” I have now, especially when it’s out on its own. That white keyboard is such a nice change from the black, even if it will show dirt much quicker.

After 2-plus years with the Silver 12.9 (2018), I had decided to get Space Gray for the (then rumored) 2021 IPP. But the white keyboard has tossed a wrench into the works, because I think it look better with silver. ( https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...th-white-magic-keyboard.2292649/post-29801819 ).

In any event, I'm going to wait for reviews of the white MK to find out if grunges as easily as many people think it will!

Silver for me! First iPad I’m buying where the Silver option doesn’t mean a white bezel. I much prefer the black-on-silver classic Apple look compared to Space Gray. My phone’s silver, my Mac mini is silver, sadly my MacBook is Space Gray but that was a last-second decision to be ‘different’ and while I don’t regret it I do wish I had gotten silver, now that Space Gray Macs are EVERYWHERE.

You say it with such certainty. Is this consistent with last releases or something?

Would be awesome to get another perspective before pulling the trigger on Friday.

Likely going with a Silver 12.9”, because I know I’ll have FOMO with the 11”. I’ll get to try it out and if I end up not liking it (doubt it), I can exchange it.

I am still feeling a bit butthurt about the Magic Keyboard fiasco with the 12.9. If I *do* get one, I will definitely opt for silver this time around. Wish they made a gold or other colorways for the Pro.

LOL! ? My theoretical alternative setup was 11" iPP / 16" MBP / Monitor but I just can't bring myself to resist the iMacs or XDR display in the new 12.9". But yeah... that iMac will probably quickly become the 'family iMac' and I'll get a 16" MBP for myself. Justification at its finest.

A point more to the thread's content so I'm not completely derailing: I started to find Space Grey extremely drab and boring on my devices. I don't use Dark Mode, either, because I just want some lightness and brightness in my UI and in my devices - seems to brighten my mood a bit. I also found the Space Grey coating on my MacBook to be far more susceptible to nicks and chips than the Silver coatings of yesteryear. So now my phone is Pacific Blue, iPad is Silver, and iMac will be green.

Although, space gray is more popular on this thread. I feel like this year it doesn't really have anything to do with which color apple markets the ipad. Because this year, they advertise/market both colors, especially with the brand new white magic keyboard they would market the silver version

You are not not boring at all. Those are classic Apple colors. As much as I would love to go all silver and white I do believe that some products look better in Space Grey.

My lineup is a little bit mismatched.

iPhone - Silver/White
iPad - Silver
Apple Watch - Space Grey
AirPods Max - Space Grey
MacBook Pro - Space Grey

I would have bought a silver MacBook Pro, but I don’t think the current portable lineup looks good in silver. The color really doesn’t flatter the design at all. I’m hoping the 14 inch redesign will look better in silver. That’s the one I will get. The iPad Pro in silver is gorgeous. It’s like the OG iPad got a futuristic upgrade. It looks sick with the white keyboard too.

Bought the 12.9 M1 space grey and black Magic keyboard

But really wish apple would release the pro versions in more colours :mad:

Update:

So I decided to return my silver a day before the return policy ended and I went with Space Grey. I couldn't be more happy with it. I also got a 13 Pro in Graphite, so my lineup is now entirely Space Gray. :apple::cool:

I bought the iPad Pro 11” 1TB WiFi + Cellular (silver) to match the new white magic keyboard.

White Magic keyboard matches the silver iPad Pro way better than the space gray model.

I take it around with me and looks nice.

Thinking of getting a suitable skin for the white magic keyboard. Anyone know which color matches nicely?
