Don't be 'shamed.....

I still have my Apple:apple: IIc box.;):D

I still have my PowerMac 8600 box from 1997! And the the boxes for my 2002 eMac, 2004 iBook, and 2005 MacBook. I never throw my computer boxes away because that is the best way to transport the machine when you move. If I use a commercial mover, then my computers go IN the car with me, on the back seat, in the box. If I use a rented Ryder truck where I supervised the packing, my computer is safest if it is nestled in the original packaging. After all, that's the way that Apple shipped it when I bought and I've never received a damaged Mac in 17 years.

The only reason that I don't have the boxes for my 1990 LC II, 1994 Performa, and 2000 iMac (blue) is because I sold them. And the buyers were very impressed and pleased that the sale included THE ORIGINAL BOX.

I just got an aluminum 24" iMac last month. Oh, it was so slim and trim in the Apple store but I was bowled over by the size of the box when the sales clerk brought it from the back for checkout. I decided to buy an iLugger case for it but I'm keeping that box! The computer is too big to carry on an airplace but I can ship it ahead, insured, IN THE ORIGINAL BOX!!

I have all my Apple boxes in my closet, some actually inside others. Apple boxes are the nicest boxes I have come across, especially the iPod touch box.

Well, actually I am.........

Are you an A-list celebrity or something? For the rest of us mere mortals MacBooks weren't available until Spring 2006. ;)

......a celebrity, that is. But, one who made a mistake on the date that I acquired my MacBook. I can't seem to keep up with all of my Macs (sigh). Of course it should have read "2006 MacBook". Thanks for catching the error! I
:)

It was an easy one to catch... anyone here could probably tell you the Intel switch was in January 2006 :D

Just a query ... I just bought a refurbished 24" iMac from Apple ... the Apple site says they repackage it in official boxes and everything.

I was just wondering how it is shipped? Do they put the imac box in another box? So that people don't really know what is inside the box?

Last time I got anything from Apple larger than the Mac Mini was in 1999 when I got a B&W G3 tower and monitor. The UPS shipper "joked" he was going to keep it since it had the pictures of the computer and monitor all over the box, so he knew exactly what I was getting.

I was going to "presign" for my computer when FedEx is supposed to deliver it on Wednesday, because I am never home when he comes by, and I don't think my boss would let me take the day off just to get a delivery. LOL. Packages are usually safe on my front porch, but if it screams "COMPUTER! HERE!" on the packaging people would probably be able to see it from the street.

I dunno, I'm just a paranoid chick, I guess. LOL
