What difference does switching from Intel to ARM make for normal users?

It took the over a year when Apple back in day went from Intel! They were the last big software developer to move their software over to Intel because Adobe and other music daws switched in the fist 6 months! However the music plugins might take a while though, they did the same way during the last change!
